dude...not sure what you are saying here...sounds a lil too general?I agree, I couldn't either. But I can say that most supposed Christians are nothing but pagans worshipping themselves and their own intellect.
Sorry, but in effect, they are their own "gods".
Hi belovedmelody:do you all realize most of the stuff from the Toronto blessing is over? Like they don't have the meetings every night like they used to...I don't think everything they did was right. There was some..and still is some pretty out there things. I love the way people keep bringing up the barking and stuff...That stopped SO long ago (after proper teaching)...and yet...people still bring it up! Like COME on. It is done and over. I just still question some of the stuff. We get their magazine, and I wonder about what I see in there...not all of it was bad...but it wasn't all good either.

i would like to think most christians love and serve an almighty God...of course in reality we makes some mistakes on the way but as long as the heart is facing God....he will help us overcome...and only God would know this..
God bless
Aah..get your point now (you know why i call myself simpleone now) hehIt was intended to be "too general".
In the same way that someone could witness a crazy person acting like a barking dog urinating on a post and then come to the conclusion that the TACF outpouring was not of God.
Guys...I think I have an idea of what this means....but hearing it more often and just wanna be sure:
forgive my lack of understanding but...what is specifically meant by
"throwing the baby out with the bath water" in terms of the outpouring.
thx
It means dismissing everything that happened as false,
because of the things that were shown to be false
becoming enough to dismiss the entire event.
Of course, the whole thing to me is about one thing:
laughing where there should have been weeping and repentance,
instead of laughing fits which produced little to no repentance.
There can be "holy laughter" after repentance,
as the joy of redemption can produce laughing and joyful weeping,
otherwise known as the joy of the Lord,
much like the joy experienced by both the prodigal son and his father
upon the son's return home from rebellious living,
but not the sort that was seen at the Toronto Airport.
God bless...
Thanks man...that was clear as crystal...I had a feeling it was that...but good to know am on the same page as others (for this atleast)It means dismissing everything that happened as false,
because of the things that were shown to be false
becoming enough to dismiss the entire event.

Really? I am assuming you have scripture to definatively back up this "no laughing" during repentance formula?
...I am just speechless.
Are you this blind? Are you this calloused to the truth?
Do you even know what repentance is???
Read it again.
That wasn't there when I captured your quote. But now that you do have it there, where does it say that the first man who thanked god that he was not like the other man did it while laughing?
You claim that one cannot repent and laugh at the same time. Surely you must have a scripture to back it up.
But you tell me how you can turn away from something that you find entertaining.
Wasn't the OP enough to show you what you need to see?
Why are you forever trying to have your sin, and enjoy it too?
(oooOhweee...there's somebody here who could use a good laughing fit)
My daughter told me this past week at her Bible study, a girl in the corner started laughing...and laughing...and laughing....AND LAUGHING. She was escorted outside where she laughed some more.
Her friend told my daugher that earlier in the evening she had prayed over the girl and asked God to fill her with joy. Apparently God's joy runneth over like a spring in a dry desert. My girl said everyone there got so blessed seeing this previously depressed girl so joyous.
I beg your pardon. Who are you to accuse me of sin?
