Hummm??
John Arnott believes the animal manifestations are from the Spirit. I heard him preach on the subject. So that's why he would not have taken it out of the book. (or put a stop to it in the church for that matter). I have a hard time believing he would deceive anyone- never mind deceive a man just to have his endorsement. You don't build a church and sustain revival for all those years by seeking the endorsements of men. God Himself endorsed the Arnott's and their ministry.
I dont' believe this story is the whole truth.
Some are legitimate prophetic acts. For example, crowing like a rooster: God has said "it's a wake up call for my church". Dog bark: Jesus is at the door.
agree to reign in the excessive flesh (to take away the stage).
The church in Toronto was TACF - The Airport Christian Fellowship.
There was a man on a leash ... There is no indication that it was done in response to anything specific in the meeting. ... So we can't say, from that video, that it was an accepted part of "the blessing".
they would gently direct and lead the person to a nearby room where they could manifest to their hearts content.
This is not them thinking they are a lion, but a prophetic reference to Jesus who is known as the Lion of Judah.
God used their ministry to change lives and ignite ministries all over the world. The fruit is clearly seen. Many can testify that God moved in them and caused changes within. I'm one.Just out of curiosity, how do you know for sure that "God Himself" endorsed it?
These were the actual reasons given by John Arnott. I heard him preach it in 2008.I've never heard those explanations before! Are you speculating, or were these the actual reasons given for these manifestations?
So by "prophetic act", do you mean these people believed that had a gift of prophecy (or perhaps simply had a word from God), and instead of telling the congregation "Jesus is at the door", they would act like a dog instead?

You should be ashamed. Really!
How is this video even up? It makes fun of religion and the charismatic movement.
Has anyone clicked on the videos after it plays? Where they make fun of the crucifixion of Jesus in the Passion of the Christ movie using the same saxophone music?
There's no other point to this video's posting than to laugh at charismatics.
These reasonings are the same heard for those endorsing the purpose-driven and emergent church movements as well, and they aren't endorsed by God. So, I'm wondering if there's more.

You could Add JW and Latter Day Saints to that list.
Their ranks and their influence exploded after their founder received 'new revelation'. But a better test would be if their revelation lines up with what the bible says.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Gal 5:23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
I'd love some more information.
what "new revelation" was being proclaimed? PROOF or retract. You could Add JW and Latter Day Saints to that list.

No, my question was, where did John Arnott come out with new revelation? I know about JW"s and such.

Before Toronto Vineyard, John Arnott was a pastor in a little church in Stratford, and we were members of it. He is the most honest man going. I love him dearly...and feel a bit protective of him. His message was the same there as it was when he moved to Toronto. He was "excommunicated" because he wouldn't be controlled by another man. He walks in the Spirit. He did eventually "reign" in the excessive, but not for a man.
John wimber confronted arnott as the God appointed head of the entire vineyard communion acting on behalf of the appointed leadership. Arnott lied. He went back on his word. God used wimber to try to reach arnott who was supposed to be to submitted to wimber as timothy submitted to paul. Arnott was kicked out of vineyard. They don't do that casually.. they really had to view tacf as being off the path and disobedient in a fellowship that almost never had to exercise such authority.
These were the actual reasons given by John Arnott. I heard him preach it in 2008.
The lady who howls like a wolf has a Scottish accent.
There is still a fair bit of that kind of expression in some Scottish Churches.
Hope that helps
