Many people who celebrate Easter say that Jesus resurrected at sunrise Easter morning, they even have a sunrise service to celebrate the resurrection. But is a sunrise resurrection true? Lets test this with the Scriptures.
The two Marys came to the tomb while it was still dark but while the sun was in the process of rising.
John 20:1 Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
Mark 16:1-2 When the Sabbath was over, Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they could go and anoint him. And very early in the morning on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb, just as the sun was rising.
Either way, Jesus was gone before sunrise.
Easter sunrise resurrection is false.
