We got to talking about this in another thread and I didn't want to derail it so it now has it's own thread.
We were discussing things concerning the two witnesses that prophecy in the end of days in Jerusalem and how after three days from being killed by the antiChrist and his cohorts they arise from the dead.
Three days has a significance that many only associate with the three days in the tomb that Yeshua spent.
But there are other places that can give us hints about the mystery of the three days.
These were brought up in that thread.
Hosea 6:
1 In their affliction they will seek me early, saying, Let us go, and return to the Lord our God; for he has torn, and will heal us; he will smite, and bind us up.
2 After two days he will heal us: in the third day we shall arise, and live before him, and shall know him:
3 let us follow on to know the Lord: we shall find him ready as the morning, and he will come to us as the early and latter rain to the earth.
Now many things can be gathered from these few verses.
1. Verse 1 - speaks of returning to the LoRD this means making teshuvah, same as what John was preaching before Messiah Yeshua came. Teshuvah means to turn away from other things and gods and return to the ways of the true G-d.
2. Verse 2- I believe speaks of the time period that we have almost gone through, 2- days = 2,000 years. It is believed to be about the time between the first coming of Messiah and the second coming concerning the majority of Jews.
3. 'In the third day we shall arise' - or 'He will raise us up so that we may live' is a more literal translation from the Hebrew.
now in reference to Revelation after the two witnesses are killed and lay in the streets the Spirit of G-d enters into them and the 'arise' and go into heaven.
The third verse is also in keeping with this
"and he will come to us as the early and latter rain to the earth."
This to me speaks of the first and second coming.
What third day or three days can you find to help round this out?
