I hope I'm putting this in the right place. Can anyone please give me scripture that the 10 Commandments can't be changed nor that it was abolished? Thanks

There is lots of verses in the bible that would tell you it's not been abolished, in one form or another.

As far as can't be changed? One would have to be AS God, to change God's law. That's the way I see it anyway. So I wouldn't even ask that question, I wouldn't even THINK to ask that question. I can tell you that I have seen nothing written anywhere in the Bible that gives ANYONE permission to change His law...

Now, the ANTI-CHRIST, HE "thinks to change God's time and law"...that's one of his characteristics.

As far as searching scripture...go to bibleontheweb.com and you can put what you are looking for in the "search" area, and it will pull up the scripture for you.

Well my freind says God changed the law so i want to disprove that. He like many others said that the commandments were abolished but then said God changed it alota ppl do that if a theory fails jump to another like if someone saids that the calender change so the Sabbath is on Sunday but if some1 disproves that they almost automaticly jump to the beleif that God changed it to the 1st day as long as they dont have to obey it

Matthew 5: 17-18: (v.17) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. (v.18) For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. --KJV

Hi IWTALCTAs well as the above answers ask your friends who believe in the abolish principle this - if the 10 commandment were abolised then why is stealing, commiting adultery and murder still considered sin?

Take special notice of what they say, as it seems that most only ever want to do away with the 4th commandment which happens to be the one that God said to

"Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy..."

Concerning the 4th commandment, it was not commanded to keep at the time the 10 commandments were written by the finger of God. Notice that is says "Remember the Sabbath day..." not commanding to do so, but commanding us to remember to do so. It was commanded to keep on the seventh-day of creation. The 10 cmmd's were written on stone by the finger of God, this alone tells me it was important and wouldn't be a temporary thing. When I say something is set in stone, I mean it's steadfast and sure, not temporary and unstable. Now talk about sinning? What is it? 1 John 3:4,5 says what sin is... "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he [Christ] was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin." So if sin is breaking the law, and if you think the law is not valid anymore, then are we are all free to sin? Of course not.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 "Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." The whole duty of man does not change. It is the same now and will be the same in heaven. Jesus is our example it says in the Bible and we should follow his footsteps, and did Jesus keep the law? Yes, John 15:10 "I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love."
What should you do if you love God? Keep his commandments! 1 John 5:2 :By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments."

Read also: "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." 1 John 2:4
