This is the story of a young man. This young mans story may not appear to be anything to get excited about or cry about or feel upset about, but to this young man this is his story. For him it is a story of happiness, rejection, anger, love and sin. For this young man his story is no less important to him than anyone elses here tonight. For although is story doesnt contain all those things that weve heard from others testimonies it will reveal to you dangerous truths about the mindsets and beliefs that you carry about with you everyday.
Let me tell you this young mans story.
This young man had always been to church most of his life. His earliest memories include his church family and God. Needless to say that having God so common in his life he associated that empty feeling with just that is what God is like.
Then this young man grew up and in high school he fell in love with a Christian girl who used to sit about the way. From all external appearances this young lady was a fine model to her friends and this young mans heart was instantly sold.
He sold his heart for almost two years.
Finally to his delight the girl asked him out (mind you after several failed attempts on his behalf) and he accepted her offer and so began the most tremulous year of his short life so far. He sowed all he had into this relationship, he prayed about it and sought the advice of his friends at school. His friends were generally agreeable with the whole thing and werent overly concerned about what happened there at all. It was about this time that he realized she wasnt an authentic Christian (neither was he but it sets a level for later in the story)
Not too long into it they had their first kiss. It was for the young man an amazing experience in which feelings ran around his body that hed never even felt before. It was amazing. So, as they say, the fuse was lit.
The relationship then became physical, with both the young man and the girl seeking to gratify their own desires, and not respecting others body. Ill admit here that the young man and girl didnt have sex. They did everything but pretty much. The young man did experience feelings that should only be reserved for marriage and this only fueled his desire even more.
The situation came to a height not soon after at a camp. Think of this lots of rain, mud, the young man, the girl, in a tent. Yes there were others in there but that was a moot point when his hormones were feeding his ever growing desire to just let go of what self respect he had left.
He came awfully close that night to making a big mistake. Thing was though, not going all the way tore him in two. See at that moment the young man realized what was happening and what was going on inside of him. He felt quite awful for a long time after that.
That is when Gods finger started working on this young mans life. Somehow God managed to bring this young man back into church and he started attending his youth group. It was odd at first as he didnt have any other friends pretty much outside of his girlfriend. Slowly but surely he saw how glorious God was and just how sinful he was but this didnt dim the feelings inside of him, although he was coming back he had a while to go yet.
The girl then moved away.
This only further heightened the emotion and whenever the two came together it was a very physical experience.
It reached breaking point for the young man.
As this young man was being taken back into Gods arms, this young girl was crying out for acceptance and the longing to be loved. For her sex was the only way for that. God was totally out of her picture now, the world she thought, would have all the answers shed ever need in this life.
He prayed a prayer one night; this prayer changed the course of his downward spiraling life significantly:
The young man prayed that they would stay together. But he very soon realized that this would not be an option. It reached breaking point and the young man came to a decision that would break hearts everywhere.
He ended the relationship. It was the hardest thing he ever did and he hated every minute of it and even felt guilty for doing it. As a result of him doing Gods will she turned further away from God and sunk down awfully low. He felt guilty that hed done this to her, the person that he loved. How could he do that to her and leave her like that? She blamed him for a lot of things and her friends, the only friends that even he had blamed him as well, as the world couldnt see what was happening here.
God slowly showed his mercy to the young man and held him close in his arms. He showed the young man visions of his future now free from the coils of sin. He showed him that she was no longer his concern and to surrender everything to him. He lost a lot of friend doing this, the only friends he had. But as he drew near to God, God gave him the friends he could truly need. The young man was broken and down yet the love of his youth group and the support that God and his friends gave him held him up and reveal things to him that he never dreamed possible. Yes from time to time, even a year on this young man had flashbacks and has vivid memories of his times with the young girl. It scares him a lot now but as he learns to trust God more the easier it is becoming.

Lord I am lost and confused and am in serious and dire need of your guidance. If eel as though I keep betraying you every time Lord and that is something I hate doing. Why is it such a difficult issue Lord because my upbringing and knowledge of what you expect of me cannot be interpreted any other way. I love this girl Lord and would die for her but I love you more God and hate having this divide.

Please forgive me God for being not what you expect. Help me Lord to say the right things and do the right things by her Lord. I pray you keep our relationship healthy but I pray more that Id be honest to you God. I love you God.
