I have read all your posts in this thread, and have not laughed at anything you have said. Why laugh at Pete's question? He at least wanted understanding even though he doesn't agree, you are not obviously. That's highly debatable....

Please cite references where you don't agree with that DD. Thank you.
Yeah I think jus=risdictions or actually countries, they listed LCMS as 242 like the catholics, the point when I posted that was that THERE are NOT 30,000 protestant it is closer to 5000 and if your talking main blocks around 800 the 30,000 is such blatant misrepresentation it is ridiculous, and people use it to rip on SS but there is nothing that connects one to the other.ahem
Its likely been asked before (and before, etc. ...)
Are they counting jurisdictions and autocephalous as different without recognising the "in communion" status ?
I have a couple questions concerning the statue and I'll warn you right up front this is a somewhat loaded question but I'd appreciate some honest answers
is there a ceremony done on the statue?
no
is the statue considered sacred by the church?
sacred? of course not
is some type of special treatment other then maintenance given to the statue?
no, but we have a cross outdoors and at Easter we put material over it, to indicate Christ is risen like this...is that considered special treatment? I guess, I also have seen the Baptist church do it similar. Maybe they worship objects cause they decorate them too.
are objects offered to the statue?
yes I offered my first born , my dog, my brother in laws fake leg, and shaved my head to appease the statue.
Give me a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know Catholics voted for ObamaI'm not laughing at Pete. I have much respect for Pete. I'm laughing at the idea that all of these different "rites" actually agree.
He asked if they agreed. I simply said it's highly debatable. I doubt there is much agreement within just the Latin Rite alone much less the others.
55% of Catholics did vote for Obama you know.
relax. If you ask me dave has a great understanding already.I have read all your posts in this thread, and have not laughed at anything you have said. Why laugh at Pete's question? He at least wanted understanding even though he doesn't agree, you are not obviously.

I don't know the percent like the amount you state, but one is too many.
I don't mean the individual people all agree. They should, but alas they don't. I mean the rites are in union , ppl do as they please, because of free will, poor education, etc.
relax? why would I not be relaxed?relax. If you ask me dave has a great understanding already.
relax? why would I not be relaxed?
How about when people get married at a catholic church... they put flowers down at the foot of mary's statue..yes I offered my first born , my dog, my brother in laws fake leg, and shaved my head to appease the statue.

That is IDOLATRY for certain.
What makes them in union?
We all stand firm in the faith. Our differences are by how we are allowed to administer some of the sacraments. The sacraments and what they stand for are in union. We can differ on how we celebrate the Liturgy.
We differ because of many centuries of cultural diversity. there is no need to take that away from any of the rites, because there is nothing contrary to the faith that that entails.
There is no talking to you to because you both don't want an honest and sincere dialog, what a pity.
I know one thing, the union of truely born again believers who I have met and have made Jesus the LORD of their life are 100% against anyone who promotes abortion...NOW that is unity...Unity in Christ! What makes them in union?
