I am often asked why when I have assumed the moniker "The Simple Plan" in my poetry, on forums and on my email. I would like to share the answer with you.
Firstly many think this approach is because I am a simpleton (God knows better !!   Some have even told me that I should look at the text of God stating "making wise the simple". I prefer to look at the other definitions of simple afforded to us by the English dictionary than restricting it to one that means one without sense.
Simple can mean unassuming or unpretentious, not given to artifice or duplicity; undesigning; sincere; true, free from pomp or affectation. This is how I see my relationship with God, and it is my simple plan to be with him one day.
If however one still wants to see simple as a fool, it would be wise to note that not all references of fool in the Bible were of a stupid, negative connotation. Os Hillman of Market Place Leaders states "In Biblical wisdom literature a simple fool, or peti, was a person who made mistakes but quickly righted them and was restored to fellowship with God and with others,..like King David was.... whereas a hardened fool, kesil and ewil, makes mistakes, but never learns from them and will not listen to others. Some people must get broken before they can become simple fools."
This simple fool then takes God at his word and believes in the simple plan of salvation. That Jesus died for my sins, saved me and allows me now to live in him. Just thought you might want to know......
God is my Strength
