  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Peace in Christ.

We are to arise and “shine”. Our light is come and the glory of the LORD rises upon us. The light of Christ arises within our hearts….and the glory of God appears upon us.

God's rising glory attracts the people of the outside world to us who have His light.

Isa 60:1-5 KJV
(1) Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

The people of this world are in darkness. They do not know God. Yet when the LORD arises upon us, they will see His glory upon us who do know God.

Somehow they see His glorious light and are attracted to it.

(2) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

The people of this world will come to that light. Kings will come to the brightness of that rising of light. Leaders of this world will come to see the glory of God that is seen through us. They gather themselves together and come to us.

(3) And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

(4) Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

When we see this gathering of people coming to us, our hearts shall “fear”….that is, be startled by what is happening. The joy of our hearts will expand when we see them coming to us because of the light of the glory of God that they will somehow perceive over us.

(5) Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

As Jesus said, we are the light of the world….the world who is in darkness. They will see that light. We are in “show business”….as God’s light is to be seen by the people of this world over us. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Mat 5:14-16 KJV
(14) Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

(15) Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

God lights us…and we are to shine before men SO THAT they may see our good works and glorify our Father who is in Heaven. It's not the good works that lightens us. The light attracts the people of the outside world who are in darkness to us so that they may see our good works done in the Lord.

(16) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
