  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Joyous Song: We usually have our Seder on Evre Pesach, but this year it a Shabbos so we likely will have it in the afternoon. Has anyone else though this through?

Gedaliah Maegil: Why would a Christian have a Pesach meal?

JS: Being Christian should not affect whether one keeps Hahalacha or not. HaMoshiach did not come to abrogate the law, He came to fulfill it. The Law on Pesach are Laolom, enteral upon all of Israel both Tribe of Judah and Tribes of Ephraim. Thus even if our parents and grandparent forwent the law that does not give us licensees to do the same.

Besides, a non Israelite cannot keep the Law according to the rabbis as we have for over thirty years in isolation. Further, my question was about Pesach this year, it follows Shabbos has nothing to do with why we are keeping Hahalacha (the fact we are makes that question immaterial) but how people are handling this particular Pesach.

I also know this has happened before, but that was a long time ago and I was not here where Messianic Jews actually keep Hahalacha when it last happened. I’m simply curious how they reconciled this situation this year and in the past. I know how we have.
