What are the health benifits of a sauna, I always see them in health clubs and we have one on campus. What are they for?

At my conservative bible college ladies arent allowed to sit naked in a steamy enviroment with us men, for obvious reasons

the health benfits are to sweat out toxins..the skin is a organ of the body, and releases toxins through sweat glands..sauna can be healthy..also many people use them for weight loss as well..and to stay trim..which is temporary though.

So wear a bathing-suit. Go to a public sauna where wearing those is the norm.

saunas have been around for centuries; their main purpose is as someone else mentioned they release toxins and impurities from the body...water loss is evident, but temporary. And remember not to stay in too long...a little bit goes a long way...

I would really avoid using it if you have heart problems, though. It's really, really important for anyone who uses this to stay hydrated.

i know this is supposed to be about a sauna, but your point is a very intellegent one.

We as a christian nation, me as a christian, often cut off our arm, inspight of our hand.

I lived in Europe for a few years and your comment about the sexual association with it is so true.

That is one thing that I enjoyed about being over there, to be perfectly honest.

America tries to be so morally perfect, that it goes overboard sometimes.

You experienced Scandanavia, I, myself, Europe, but it is America (self-proclaimed the morally perfect and christian based country) that can take "something beautiful and created in the image of God", and turn it into something morally wrong.

Being nude is, in my opinion, is not morally wrong. Adam and Eve were first created by GOD, nude.

And as you know, the crime rate for sexual incidents is almost tripled here in america, as in other european countries. Why is that?

When will America ever learn?

Well, there are scriptures that command us to be modest and to avoid making others stumble, but I don't want to get off topic since the OPer meant to discuss health benefits.

Ok, so maybe nudity on it's own isn't bad, but I'm not going to chance causing someone to lust. Just because you guys have your hormones under control (I've never heard of this happening please explain how you got there), that doesn't mean that other men and women can do the same. As a Christian I have to say there is no way that mixed nudes can possibly be a good thing unless it's husband and wife(just one husband and his one wife). As far as the health benefits I read in a worst case senario game that sitting in a sauna regularly can decrease your chances of getting sick. I just take really hot showers every day that fog up the whole bathroom. I figure that's about the same thing : )

Amen to that. I would love to sit around with naked women and get sweaty but thats only my flesh talking. In actuality instead of being unholy I would rather do so only in the case of me and my wife. Modesty is part of holiness.
