1. I responded to Bob to point out that he changed the word in his paraphrase of verse 5 from "judges" to "observes." I also pointed out, contrary to his assertion that there was no reference to not observing, that verse 6 in the majority text and textus receptus includes a statement about not judging.
2. You replied to me saying "You have completely misinterpreted the meaning of that passage", and then giving your view.
3. Then I replied to you to say that I didn't misinterpret the meaning of that passage because I had not yet interpreted the meaning of the passage at all. I did not give my view on that verse or the larger context. I simply pointed out that he changed the text of verse 5, and disregarded the majority text and textus receptus reading of verse 6.
4. You and I went on to agree that the word in vs. 5, κρίνει, means "judges", which upheld part of my initial objection to Bob's inaccurate paraphrase.
Since your interpretation of the text dealt with the larger context and themes in the chapter my critique of Bob's paraphrase had nothing to do with your view. But you may want to wait to accuse people of misinterpreting until they actually interpret the text. I had not interpreted, but pointed out how the text actually read, in order to better weigh the interpretations put forward.
Now I will see if Bob and you can come to agreement on your different views. Bob's view that it refers to the holy days, and yours that it deals with food and fasting may have some overlap in that the Day of Atonement is a fast day. But since you have not fully spelled out your view yet it is too early to know if you and Bob will agree.

I'm "intending". . .I made a mistake, which you pointed out.8:13 is in relation to the old covenant. He was quoting from the giving of the new covenant in Jeremiah, which is restated in Hebrews 8, and again partially in Hebrews 10. So I am not sure what you were intending by citing Heb. 8:13.
