The awakening came to me in that hour.
I was sitting up drinking in the quiet of a moment and in
An instant the stillness broke as one singular sound rang
Out, piercing the silence. It was a lone [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]’s crow.
I closed my eyes, listening with all my senses.
Further, on anotherRooster crowed in answer,
then another; the sound barely audible.
My spirit thrilled to its resonance, as the message
Reverberated through the dew-drenched air.
I felt privileged being the sole human to
Hear that mysterious language of
Nature.
