Dear Laz: The final analysis of Satan is he can only operate as far as is allowed by the Lord of the universe! He is NOT even lord of heck.

This is the outcome! Thank God, it is good enough! To this final result all things are tending. To such a universal victory we are traveling on. We can see it by faith afar off.

The purpose of God has always been one of recovery. Sin entered the world by one single act of disobedience. Thru that one act the entire human race has been "made sinners". Our Heavenly Father has a perfect solution, the same mass of mankind made sinners are destined to be "made righteous."

Acts 3:21
Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.

Now that's what the gospel is all about! That Jesus Christ died for our sins to seal God's promise to ultimately restore all of creation to his image. By overcoming the world, death and the devil, he showed God is love, abundant grace, and the victory of true love as eternally willing to go further to save than sin can ever go to condemn.

That's why it's good news for all, not just the elect. The guarantee of God's Omega Plan is even good news for the reprobates who love doing evil and despise God - they just don't know it yet, because it's the perfect package of divine justice, wrath, wisdom, grace and mercy that burns up the chaff of falsehood and creates the new man in Christ.

I suspect that's why the devil loves arson down here, it's his attempt to replace the theology of divine fire with the natural, and of course to use it as an instrument of evil. Probably why he's come to be associated with 'ruling in hellfire'.

It may be that satan will experience the lake of fire as though it were earthly fire, as he'll resist God so hard and for condign punishment.

Those attracted to the common idea of hell operate out of a scarcity model, where there is not enough Divine Love to transform, awaken, and save. Your post reminded me of this quote found in Thomas Allin - Christ Triumphant.

"As the souls of heretics are hereafter to be eternally burning in hell," such was the reasoning of Queen Mary in defense of her awful persecution, "there can be nothing more proper than for me to imitate the divine vengeance, by burning them here on earth."

Queen Mary obviously saw herself as God's handmaiden. Therein lies the fruit of damnationism. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

"They will make you outcasts from the synagogue, but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God. (Jn 16:2)

"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. (Jn 4:23)

Imagine a heaven full of Queen Marys. Funny thing is that most of the Protestants she had executed would have been convinced damnationists themselves. What a mess!

Now I realize you were right.
Jonah got on a boat headed for Tarshish. The fish took him to Nineveh. - lol

Paul was in a shipwreck when he sailed for Rome. See Acts 27.
