The ressurection and the Lords coming.

Job 14:12 "So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come


The ressurection happens when the heavens be no more. and the wrath has past---really....
Here it is again,

Isaiah 26:19 "Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon"


The apostles were correct,- the ressurection happens after the heavens are no more
The second coming of Christ sees the end of this present heaven and earth.-see 2 pet 3

Pauls teaching is that the rapture happens after the ressurection, and our gathering to him wont happen before the ressurection.




Heaven and earth will pass away but we will be raised the last day.
In a twinkling of an eye.


51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable[18][Lit incorruptible ], and we will be changed.
53 For this perishable[19][Lit corruptible ] must put on the[20][Lit incorruption ] imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.

I am reading an absolutely riveting book called When Will Jesus Come? by Dave Hunt.
He mentions one verse which says Jesus comes for His saints. Another verses states he comes WITH them.
This must be 2 comings then.

He comes with the Angels- his Army, but the reesurection has to happen with us in order to be like them--and he has promised to do this when he comes again-raise us the last day-changed in a twinkling of an eye-at the last trumpet.

When He returns at the rapture, people will be carrying on as ususal, "As in the days of Noah, eating drinking marrying, partying."
When he returns at the End, there will be rocks falling into the earth, the sun burning people, mountaisn falling down. Life will not be as usual.

Flesh and blood cannot inherit what he has prepared for us. therefore we will be gathered into it and changed at the ressurection , he comes to raise us the last day when the heavens be no more.

He comes/returns/appears to ressurect and gather/rapture us .

Understand that living brothers and sisters wlll not precede those that are already asleep, but those dear family members will rise and we will be changed to meet him and be with him from that point on till everlasting.

That's simply not the case.

Jesus comes with the dead saints in heaven to meet the saints still living on earth- and then all are transformed into a resurrected state.

He appears to be focusing on the GWT , and the place of rightousness after the heavens are no more and the earth dissolves....at the 2nd coming..

Actually they're not a brand new heavens and earth. They're renewed heavens and earth- the glorification of the present reality and its transformation and sanctification into physical perfection.

We're not gnostics, after all.

The only time in the entire Bible where a millennial reign is mentioned is in Revelation 19- and there's good reason to think that that is the present church age.

Give the Scriptures that support the idea that the world has been under the Lord's millennial rule for the last 2,000+ years. The 19th and 20th chapters of Revelation are sequential. When did the events of chapter 19 take place in the past ? When did the gatherings take place immediately after the tribulations of those days noted in Matthew 24 and 25 ? When did the events of Jeremiah 30 and 31 take place ? When did the events of Ezekiel 36 take place .... and 37, 38, 39 ? Explain Ezekiel chapters 40-48. When did the events of Zechariah 12, 13, 14 take place ? When did the judgments of Revelation chapters 8, 9, and 16 take place ? Explain Isaiah chapter 2. Explain Micah chapter 4. Explain the events of Joel chapter 3.

The earth will be "destroyed" by fire in the same way it was "destroyed" by the flood. It wasn't obliterated, but renewed. "Stephen1" and "HowardDean" are correct.

There is a verse (somewhere, I am bad with the where) which says The earth will never pass away, it will last forever. Anyone with a concordance could help?

"Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever."

The Lord said that this present earth and heavens will pass, but that His Word will never pass away. There will be a new earth and heavens (renovated) prepared for eternity as expressed in 2 Peter 3:10-13. This passage should be read in conjunction with Revelation 20:9, 21:1. The burning will be to purify the present heavens and earth and then the Lord will remake a new creation, but using the same earth and heavenly bodies that exist today. The earth was at one time desolate and void of any life and covered with water in Genesis 1:2. In the very beginning at the point of initial creation the heavens and earth were perfect. Genesis 1:3 begins with a renovation process of the earth for the purpose of preparing it for human habitiation about 6,000 years ago. Notice the condition of the other planets in our solar system .... they are still desolate .... but they were not when they were originally created. There will be a future renovation by fire, but the same heavenly bodies will be used to create the new heavens and the earth. The current universe and heavens will last for ever.

or Psalm 37:29 - "the righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever."

You will find many Scriptures that tell us of the permanency of the heavens and the earth. The Lord just remakes the other things of material substance when He chooses.
