The Repayment of One's Selflessness

Over the past two years when I perused the "Talmud", which is an old Jewish literature commentating on the Holy Writ in detail, correcting my point-of-view on what is "neighborliness" as Jesus had charged us to do. I felt rueful for falling shy of it finding things like that as a member of community, it is godly obligation to be a rolemodel and an helper even if I may not profit anything to be as selfless as God was in the Old Testament. I re-habituated myself over the months to collect cans for charities, pushing shopping carts away at stores, and giving up my leisure to teach people at Houses of Worship. (*I use the term vastly, for I meet with Jews and Christians who haven't yet joined together for His cause.) Anticipating the promise that "God requites every man for his deeds" I imagine not just the heavenly treasures in the World-To-Come, but also pleasantries in this one for my encouragement though I had become so weary that I would pass out on my bed as soon as I return home. Anyway, I had some wonders sent to me afterwards throughout the time where God himself would repay me handsomely.

• One day, while I was collecting trash in front of a plaza I typically visit for laundry days, I was once inquired by a female officer my intention of the clean-up, whereto I replied that for Christ's sake I do this as we will that we lessen the burdens of the world so others can live more free when live is heavy enough as it is to bear. She, being impressed, considered Him for some time, expressing her wishes that those values were still prevalent like the olden days when people had more benevolence to go out for others. Not only did it give me a chance to glorify Him, but leave an impression on her to be more selfless.

• Months later, my mother and I were going to the Nail Spa prior to our grocery shopping that day, so I requested that I continue my mission in the meantime. As I was humming hymns in my collecting around the spacious parking lot, I had three encounters by people who had offered to purchase me a meal as a reward for my work. I replied to each that as a Christian, my only reward is that I can see a better world for Christ's sake. It had allowed me to affirm a female believer's faith, and three unbelievers (one of them was a pair) to hear the message of benevolence.

• During the fall, after traveling from my mother's Healthcare Conference from a three hour drive at eventide, I betook myself to collect some cans while she got herself a manicure. As I was collecting cans again, I realized that some baskets may be obstructing the parking lots in Wal-Mart and Home Depot, which were eight blocks away, so I resolved to head out there afterwards during the shopping spree season. At nightfall when I returned everything, I headed back and saw a Family Dollar basket in front of the mall down the road (three blocks away from the plaza), so I took it with me back to the Nail Spa prior to returning with my mother. We later decided to go to Denny's for our supper to eat. I was not so hungry, so I simply ordered a chocolate milkshake. I do believe it was a miracle that when the waitress had brought our orders, she had told me that they had made "two servings" in those tall glasses, doubling my enjoyment then.
  
  There is still a motherlode of events I wish to recount yet I will save those for another time as my message is verbose enough as it is. Nowadays, the "salary" of the Lord He rewards me with is just as He told Abraham: "I am your exceedingly great reward", enhancing my will to keep on doing volunteer work. I am still ardent what may come whenever I do more to see the Christianization to the world trying to fulfill my quota for others' benefit. Many people are acquiring a liking to Christ and are taking care of their lives much cleaner following after my example.
