  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The refrigerator

Do you keep these items in your refrigerator?

When I am in Belize, we often do not refrigerate the eggs, though once you do, you have to leave them in the fridge. But we get the eggs from the place the farmers deliver to.
We have to refrigerate some dried spices, and breads so they do not get moldy.

I frigerate eggs also. In stores here they are kept frigerated. I've read that Americans need to frigerate eggs but most of the rest of the world doesn't. Why eggs have to be refrigerated in the US but not Europe and the best places to store them

In the door of my fridge there is a shelf formed to store eggs,

So I put them there.

It was easier before when egg was egg,
today you are confronted
with a wide choice, free running hens, eco eggs, cannot think just now of all the variety

Earlier this year we had a minor salmenella scare,

eggs were removed from shelfs, but not all eggs.

Was thinking more of,

Barefoot days down by the shady nook with a bent pin for a hook.........(sudden flashback)

A time when we kept chickens.

Was this thread inspired by my recent post in this forum? :)

I'm the same as you, except for #2. I refrigerate frigerate yellow mustard.
Si.
Food is bought fringed from the market, when brought home it needs re-frigerated, that’s why we call it thus. You’re (of course) free to use any nomenclature you desire.

I never ever put my marrow bone in the fridge!!!

Why?

Because i am an old dog now and my teeth are few!
This is exactly why we “soften” these up for you by boiling it for a while with vegetables and stock…happy gnawing!

This year I have bought eggs about three times each in a carton of six.
Not so much for a few years before that,
I do not think it would be so easy to sell unwashed eggs,

they would have the health dept onto them.

Though I wash lettuce, tomatos in case of bugs.

When I got married she put eggs in the fridge,

and when you are married you do what you are told.

Unless she is not looking.

I used to buy cartons of six, but my store only sells cartons of dozens now. The etymology of "dozen" is probably suitable for a thread of its own.

I once cracked open a bunch of celery and found a fairly large dead black spider in it. Yes, you should wash things.
and when you are married you do what you are told.
Why I'm not married. This comment is also suitable for a thread of its own.
