Regardless of what you've called yourself for 13 years, if you distribute music under that name, it's considered trademark infringement. This could also be another major reason these labels aren't considering your stuff because you're essentially using someone elses name. I also find it very hard to believe that you've never heard of this guy before. Have you in 13 years never even googled yourself?

Niobium nobody ask you your opinion about my music so i don't know why your attacking my music when this thread is about Music Industry. You may feel the way you may feel about me Niobium but the fact of the matter is you are just one man with one opinion and your opinion does not matter to me, you call yourself so call helping me by bashing my music and calling me crazy cause i'm just telling my story on what happen to me? what for? i did not ask you to check out my music, i'm not asking you to help me in no type of way at all... the way i see is YOUR JUST ANOTHER MUSIC EXECUTIVE THAT TURNED MY MUSIC DOWN and that's it, i'm used to hearing that but to be honest none of the music executes could make a track half as good as mines if it came down to it but i know the game regardless of what you might think.

You didn't need to ask my opinion, I gave it anyway because it's very relevant to your situation. And essentially, you've been asking everyone to check out your music with that signature and a couple different posts you've made in this thread, and so I did, and so I also uncovered a possible large reason for the issues you've been having with submissions and your bitterness towards an industry.

You're also very arrogant when it comes to your music for never having made any money from it and very few downloads. If your music is so good, why is it not on the indy scene either? I never said it was *bad*, but it needs a lot of work. You need to use better samples than you've used. You need better signal processing tools. You need a better engineer to mix down/master the tracks than they have been because they sound very bland. There is no power or depth behind them. They sound as if they came right out of Fruity Loops or Reason without any work done on the post production phase. If you fix those issues, you might have something very workable that people will be interested in. However, your attitude will surely turn people in the position to help your career off, so work on that as well.

O and another thing Niobium if Professor Griff is so crazy then why did they try to kill this man for? If somebody is just crazy and don't know what they are talking about and you know what the truth is...

Why does anyone attempt to kill anyone? Though it's interesting, I've not seen one article on the guy that points to anyone trying to kill him. Is this more conspiracy stuff he puts on his youtube, I wonder?

The guy is a total nutter and not someone you want to look up to if you're looking to make a career out of music.

None the less, the worst thing you can ever do is make yourself unteachable, and that seems to be what you've become. You take every piece of advice and criticism and a personal attack and fight it instead of learning from it and making changes where there are obvious flaws. I've done nothing but try and give you direction with everything I've posted and you do nothing more than shout louder when you should be listening instead.

That sounds very familiar. Without getting into too many details, I'm in a very similar area where when it comes to my own music, I'm a one man team. However, being a musician is simply part of the equation, and yes, working alone takes a lot of time to do because there is so much to learn. Look at people like Klayton Scott of Celldweller/Circle of Dust who not only spends a good amount of time working on his own, but also runs owns of the foremost electronic distribution labels (Fixt Music). Like Klayton, I branched out into many areas of the business side of music as well as the performance side. So yes, I get where you're coming from there.

I'm on this site as well as many other music sites and forums, and some comedy sites, and whatever else I enjoy during my day. And believe me, I question myself as to why I'm on this site constantly because it often makes me more frustrated that it's worth. And while I don't feel I'm better than anyone, that doesn't mean I don't have more knowledge than people on different things, this being one of them. And being that it's a forum, it's an open place to have discussion, whether people agree with the poster or not. That's what makes it a forum. The problem is that you're not helping anyone with your posts. You're making statements that are simply untrue, and that is why I've been posting and attempting to show you that what you're saying isn't along the up and up and that it's not all terrible doom and gloom and the reasons why you've been hitting these road blocks.

It really doesn't matter to me at the end of the day if you believe me or not, or whether or not you take the advice I've given. Whether you succeed or not doesn't effect me one way or another. However, when someone comes with information and obviously has more experience in a field, you take it in. Even if taken with a grain of salt, you still take it and see what good you can make out of it.

Now you're just twisting my words, but is not what you were doing also spam? If you also read the rules on this forum, you would have seen that you're also not permitted to post your personal website in your signature. Not because they don't want people going there, but because it's spam. This is also why you can't post links on this forum until you reach a certain amount of posts. Take it as you will.

I never told you that you shouldn't take it personally. That was another poster. Frankly, I think you should take it very personally if you're a serious artist because this is your art. This is your creation. However, taking something personally is not a bad thing in all cases and all depends on how you respond. A great artist will take what criticism they get and turn it into positive energy to work on making their work better. A bad artist will turn it into negative energy and spend all their time being mad at people for their less than enthusiastic response.

I've been in your shoes before. I had to work my butt off to get where I am. This is not an easy business and it's full of people who are negative and who will stab you in the back or kick you when you're down. But take everything in stride and let it make you better at what you do rather than hold you back and drag you down.

Kinda seemed like it was to me--but I was really addressing the OP's experience with
the industry and just letting him know others have been told all kind of negative stuff, executivies have used them, and they STILL made it, (by made it - I mean got their music produced, made the charts etc.) and that there's little difference IMHO of which business you are in. I've even found it so in much "church business:.

As I said, what people believe doesn't really matter to me at the end of the day. I'm not here and posting to show off some elite position or scream "look at me, I work in the music industry".

As for my methods of help, this is how the industry is. It's cut throat and unforgiving. You need a thick skin to make anything of it. If you can't handle the little criticism I've given here without crying about it, then quit now because you're never going to make it.

You can make the best album in the world and there are people who will still diss you.

Honestly, it seems like all you want to do is play Mr. Victim now and dance around in circles rather than take something good from this discussion, so I'm not going to waste anymore of my time on you. I said what I came to say and I humoured your arguments, but now you're getting to the point of ridiculous and the conversation is going nowhere.
