GOD SENDS EVIL.
I am not responsible for what people are being taught or not taught. I do not make up verses, the verses are in your Bible as well as mine. I am only showing the verses that are in Scripture, things that were said and written down thousands of years ago. Many people believe that the devil is the source of evil and responsible for all of the evil in the world. This is because of the dualism that has been forced into the understanding of and how Scripture is being taught.
Josh 23:15
Judges 2:15
2Kings 21:10-12,22:15-17
2Chr 7:22,34:24
Job 2:10,42:11
Isa 31:1-2, 45:7
Jer 6:19,11:11,18:11,25:29
Lam 3:38
Eze 14:22
Amos 3:6
Micah 2:3.
I understand that some people will be caught off guard by these verses, as the verses don't fit into the god that is presented and favored. But, here's the thing, it does not matter if you don't like these verses. If you are a true believer, you have to adapt your thinking to line up with what Scripture teaches, not altering Scripture to fit your personal belief. How many times has it been said, "If it's in the book, I believe it!" Well, these verses are in the book.
Look back at grade school. Let's take a young boy who has been introduced to multiplication. He doesn't get it at first. It confuses him. The teacher patiently works with him, but he struggles. What is the problem? The problem is not the teacher, the information she passed on to him is the same information the rest of the class received. (That is teaching in a nutshell, one person passing on information to others) The young boy has a good, functioning mind. For whatever reason, he hasn't figured it out. The boy asks his dad for help. The dad works with his young son. Suddenly, it clicks! The lightbulb in his head goes on. Now he understands the truth of multiplication! He knows the truth! From that point on, nobody will be able to trick him or con him about how to do multiplication or what the correct answers should be!
2Tim 4:3-4,
"For there will be a time when sound teaching will not be listened to, but they will heap up teachings according to their own desires, what their ears are itching to hear. They will turn their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
I am going to quote from John Gill's commentary on the bible about these two verses. Who is John Gill? Gill was an English Baptist preacher. biblical scholar and theologian, Nov 23, 1697-Oct 14, 1771, who had mastered Koine Greek by age 11, and mastered Latin. Many people don't realize that Jerome's Latin Vulgate, the only Bible used by the Catholic Church for over a thousand years, was used as one of the main sources of the KJV translators. If you are not aware, Catholic theology differs from Scripture in many areas.
One thing you don't hear mentioned from the pulpits anymore is the word, "commentaries." Most people have heard of Matthew Henery. Matthew Henery's commentary is not the only one out there. There are over 70 different commentaries available to be purchased or read. Study bibles are commentaries. Commentaries are an excellent source for bible study. My preferred commentaries are Matthew Henery, (If you want to feel conviction, read Matthew Henery), Matthew Poole, John Gill, and the Pulpit Commentary. Another excellent and one of my favorites is Keil and Delitzsch. This commentary only covers the O.T. but is an excellent source of knowledge. In fact, it is regarded as the best commentary on the O.T. This commentary came out in the later 1800s and was, according to Accordance Bible Software, "This commentary series was written at a time when a serious educated reader of the Bible would be familiar with Hebrew, Greek, and Latin."
If you started to do deep bible study, you will find that there were other Latin versions of Scripture besides the Vulgate. These other versions were far more accurate. Jerome did his translation so that it fitted into and promoted Catholic theology, not for accuracy. Jerome's Latin was so bad that it was one of the things that prompted Erasmus to do his Textus Receptus. the T.R. If God were to give me the same option He gave Solomon, I would ask for the ability to know and read the original bible languages.
If you ask the average "pastor" about reading a commentary, the response is almost identical. They will tell you, "The commentaries are good for background information, but the theology is off, the commentaries are not Scripture, or the commentaries are "personal opinion." You might hear a pastor comment that, "according to my sources..." What are these "sources?" Commentaries! Why won't they tell you this? Why won't they tell you the names of the commentaries? Why do they treat commentaries as if they are not a good bible study tool? BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT THEIR MEMBERS READING COMMENTARIES!
The bible truth in many commentaries is not only true, but it also contradicts what the "pastors" are teaching! But, you can bet that many "pastors" are consulting commentaries! I am very grateful that some of the readers learn some truth from me. But one of my goals is to encourage people to do their own independent bible study. A person is most benefited when they learn things for themselves. The more a person learns, the more able they are to recognize lies when they hear them. The truth is out there, available for anyone to learn if they are willing to put in the time and effort, perhaps spend a little money. It doesn't require one to have a high I.Q. to learn. Bible truth is not restricted to seminaries and bible colleges. The reality is that in seminaries, bible colleges, church buildings, TV and radio "ministries" the truth is hidden!
There are a number of sites, Bible Hub, Blue Letter Bible, biblestudytools, and others, that have different bible commentaries available to read for free. Type in a verse reference in your browser, say Neh 8:8. When you see the biblehub site come up, tap on it. After you arrive there, you will see, "comment." Tap on that and you will have forty different commentaries to read.
If you have been scared off from buying bible software because of the price, there is one that is only $74.99! SwordSearcher. You will get the most bang for your buck here. One thing I really appreciate about this software is that they have as one of its sources, The McClintock and Strong's Cyclopedia, an excellent source! I haven't seen any other bible software that includes this helpful work. This is not a plug! I'm not afraid to mention the bible study tools I use and recommend to others. When an upgrade is offered, it is usually about $20.00.
On YouTube, I would urge you to check out, "Unlearn the Lies." You will learn some very eye-opening truths. The only thing I disagree with is the teaching that the Nephilim are fallen angels and that believers are required to tithe. Lex is an excellent teacher and his lessons are not too long. but it's great teaching. There is also "Grace and Truth" ministries, with Jim Brown. A very good teacher. One of the main things you will learn from Jim is the importance of studying the original words. And he ties in the O.T. with the N.T. He has a depth of knowledge that will blow your mind. I disagree with Jim on two things; that the believers are under the tithe and that "hell" is a real place of eternal punishment.
Here is what John Gill said about 2Tim 4:3-4,
2Tim 4:3,
"when they will not endure sound doctrine... and yet such is the depravity of some men, both in principles and practices, that they cannot receive it, nor bear to hear it, turn their backs on it, express their indignation of it, and treat it not only with neglect, but with ridicule and contempt.
"but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers...and after their own lusts, choosing to hear as either indulge them in their sinful lusts or are agreeable to their private corrupt sentiments, in opposition to the generally received doctrine of faith..."
"Having itching ears...always desirous of "new" things, (my insertion, pastors who say, "God told me," "Jesus spoke to me in a dream," "the Holy Spirit told me to tell you," "New revelation!) , or loving to have their ears scratched and tickled with smooth things; things that are pleasing and agreeable to men of the flesh with carnal minds..."
My insertion, Isa 30:8-13..."children who will not hear the instruction of the Lord; who say to the seers, "Do not see"; and to the prophets, "Do not prophesy to us what is right, speak to us smooth things, prophesy illusions. leave the way, turn aside from the path"...
2Tim 4:4
And they will turn away their ears from the truth...the solid truths of the Gospel.
and shall be turned unto fables...but in general, it includes everything that is vain, empty and senseless...God gives them up to a reprobate (totally worthless) mind , a mind void of sense and judgment, (no ability to discern) to attend to things idle and fabulous, (myths and legends, the traditions of men.)
There was no PC back then. These men of God rightly divided the word of God, teaching it directly, truthfully and boldly! They didn't care if their words "offended" anybody. They weren't trying to gain popularity, be inclusive, reach out to society, "grow" their church or expand the kingdom!
