Who is this prophet? (The "prophet" doesn't seem to be Jesus.)

"The prophet" in John does refer to the prophesied "prophet" of Deuteronomy, and John the Baptist denies being that prophet, because it is Jesus. In Acts 3, Peter says Jesus was the prophesied "prophet like Moses".
