in the Bible and see
sound words of advice
and sweet comfort to me.
The hours I spend
being wearied in thought
are resolved by the peace
your Word has brought.
Like fresh cool rain
showering my soul
washing my thoughts
once again I am whole!
Your Word brings my soul
back to life, to the light,
once again I can breathe
once again I have sight.
Oh, why do I stay
in the desert so long
when a cool mountain stream
can be found in a Psalm?
Oh, Father, how foolish
and blind can I be
to neglect such a gift
that's been given to me!
The gift of your Word,
so priceless a treasure,
the source of all truth
and peace beyond measure.
I pray Lord, forgive me
and keep my soul stirred
to return for fresh life
freely found in your Word!
