Ever not told somebody about Christ for fear of what they might think? Ever held back for fear of the consequences of your actions? I've got a story for you...
A few weeks back, my drama class was in the cafeteria working on a play, when a girl I knew who'd dropped out of high school wandered in to visit some friends. I was aware that she had not been living what you could call a "virtuous" life, and very much aware she was not a Christian. I had a Bible in my pocket, and felt myself very much drawn to speak to her. I knew God wanted me to, but I refused. After all, who knew what the consequences of my actions might be?
Saturday night that girl overdosed on pills and cocaine.
And me? I'm left with the fact that I, in my refusal to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, stood by and watched her sink her way into hell without lifting so much as a finger to help. DON'T be like me, guys, because even though I have been forgiven, I still have to live with the knowledge that I let someone go to hell "for fear of the consequences".
"Be wise in the way you act toward those who are not believers, making good use of every opportunity you have. " Colossians 4:5
Fear the consequences of INaction. God bless you all.
