You still intend to disobey this.

You believe you are justified in disobeying this scripture because leaders are not perfect. But scripture also says:

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.-- Ephesians 6

Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. -- Colossians 3

Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust. -- 1 Peter 2

You have no scriptural justification for being absolutely disobedient to all earthly authority, and certainly not to every pastor of every congregation.

The characteristic of obedience is a virtue in itself, and must be practiced to be perfected.

Whos authority? Whos tradition? Your church? I do submit to government but i see no reason to follow your denomination, or any other. Im not RCC, Baptist, Pentecostal, MJ, SDA , EO, Anglican, Presbyterian, Lutheran or any other denomination.

No, we aren't. We are just odd correspondents.

Scripture defines an assembly in Acts 2 and Acts 4. An assembly is a body that has come together in one accord...with members assigned as elders (people you are supposed to obey), deacons, teachers, et cetera.

But the scripture you quoted says we assemble for the sake of being exhorted. That surely can be done online.

It was in no way meant to judge you. It was meant to try to understand the context of what you were saying. It felt to me like I was missing something. Clearly I was mistaken. And it was absolutely rude. Jumping straight to assuming judgment from a very basic question and providing snarky answers vs just answering or declining is rude. It is also very revealing.

I dont go to church. Forgive me for appearing to be rude, it was not my intention. I thought you were like other posters here who were judging me.

No worries, I get it. I was just trying to make sense of what I was reading and didn't want to assume anything. (But I do think going to church is a good thing )

Is it proper for a pastor to "tell the congregation what to do?"

No. Nobody has the right to tell me what I can or cannot do wth my own life, to include the pastor.

Yes. The pastor can give examples of what application of the passage looks like.

Yes. The pastor has the authority and responisbility to tell the congregation what they should do.
