That's an interesting thought. St. Louis De Montfort wrote a lot about the Hail Mary (and the rest of the prayers of the Rosary) in the little booklet "The Secret of the Rosary." I think you can read part one @ http://www.rosary-center.org/secret.htm

Hi All....The "Hail Mary" is indeed a powerful prayer,I myself try to say the Rosary everyday,and it does add greatly to my spiritual life.

I have to share this . . while waiting for my oldest's RE class to finish, I went into the back of the room for the highschoolers . . they were talking about God calling some to be married, single, and religious and chasity in as it relates to all of these . .

Well, there was a group of guys in the back of this not so big gathering, and it didn't take long to see that some were trouble makers . . and they made noise throughout the first two presentations, bad manners, etc . . I almost threw a wadded up napkin at one of them to get their attention . . LOL


Well, a nun anda religious who accompanied her was last, and the smirks on some of their faces really made me decide to do something. . so I picked one young man and began to say the Hail Mary for him . . he was sitting with his chair turned sideways towards his friends and not looking up front at all with the most aweful smirks on his face . . but I continued to say the Hail Mary over and over again, and within 30 seconds, the smirk disappeared and his attention was on the speaker at the front . . . I continued to say Hail Mary's and all the guys became quiet and attentitve . . it was a dramatic difference from the two discussions that had just occured . .

Pray! Especially the Hail Mary . .

I say the Hail Mary often, especially on the ride to or from work. Sometimes, when I tire of hearing the same music played over and over on channel after channel, most of the music being shallow and focused on self-indulgence and lack of morals, I just shut it off and repeat the Hail Mary out loud. I always offer up my prayers for those forgotten souls in pergatory. This is something I've always done when I was younger. I'd lay in bed and instead of counting sheep, I'd say the Hail Mary for the souls in pergatory.

Last week I had a breast biopsy. The morning of the procedure I went into church, with my 11 year old daughter, and we said the Rosary and then stayed for the 8 a.m. mass. I felt such PEACE and COMFORT during the entire procedure and there was no real fear of the results as I had placed all my trust in God. Two days later I learned the biopsy came back benign ... and I praise God and Mary for helping me through that day's ordeal.

I encourage you to get a copy of "Gifts of Grace: A Gathering of Personal Encounters with the Virgin Mary" by Lone Jensen. It is not specifically Catholic, but shares a great deal of insight about the intercession of the Blessed Mother.

The Power is in the believer of Our Holy Mother.

I found a novena to The Blessed Mother in a hospital elevator years ago.
It was unreal,still is to this day. Miracles happen.
