Me and a couple dozen CF friends got together in the "Stich in Rhyme" thread and wrote a poem together.... the rules were simple -- each poster would write a pair of lines, and each person's first line had to rhyme with the last person's second line.... and the poem we wrote is, by turns, funny, silly, humble, spiritual, and joyful!!

I went for a walk,
ended up in the zoo
I came down with the flu,
so I took a short rest
Split pea soup is the best,
I'm having a bowl
of God's word 4 my soul,
with a cup of dew..
just for you
I ran up the hill.
I am sleepy still
maybe I'll go back to bed.
Go back to bed if you're so lead
I think I'll just post..
while eating a roast
and get back together
You should see our weather
Lots of snow and ice!
But the weather is nice!!
Not a cloud in the sky
Don't make me cry
it's so slick outside.
you might have cried
Don't feel so sad.
It's not that bad.
Tomorrow is another day
I should feel that way
but you should look out my window!
Just to watch the wind blow?
You should stoke the fire!!
its where the wind does blow
but I’ll follow the sun
wood choppers for hire
No thanks I'll chop my own.
The wind has already blown
So I shall take a walk
more walk and less talk
melts the pounds away
Lose a pound or two today,
And we may live a longer life!!
Do you have a wife?
Drink more water is good too.
while you feast on Irish stew
then have a rest
...Eight hours is best.
Then arise with the sun.
Ever heard "You're the one?"
listening to old tunes.
while sleeping in the dunes?
Listening to the roar of the ocean
... to the waves in rhythmic motion.
Who can question God's existence?
No one can from a distance.
Love in time
even if you don’t have a dime
makes the world go round
...keeps friendships bound.
Love is a splendid thing!
Say's you with resounded ring
Ah to leave our cares behind.
...a new purpose to find.
The Lord is faithful, and He will guide you into renewed life.
get you far from care and strife
free to live in truth and grace
and keep making a funny face
smiling all the while
God, I think, does things with style,
Our World is such a Gift!!
God gives us all a lift
when we kneel
it's the best thing to do, fer real
cuz He's willing and able
to keep us stable
and give us peace
so what we can do, at the least
is love one another Gods way.
Feeding horses their hay,
I find myself sneezing
and all of our worries will cease
always be thankful, for everything
Let us Sing!

Anyways back to tv I go
cough hacking and wheezing
need and inhaler to help me please.
so I don't haul off n' sneeze
could ya' gimme a break?
Goodness, and for goodness sake!!
Sneeze until the moment passes
I must need glasses,
To read the next post
or I'll go and have toast
while I sit under a tree
I like my toast with jelly
and maybe a little butter.
while I watch a butterfly flutter
in the evening breeze
the oranges I must squeeze
to get the juice I crave.
for my hunger I must stave
and drink a fresh clear glass
That's because you've got class!!
I also like apple juice
Let's make a truce...
When it comes to juice, pomegranite it better.
I'll agree to that if you'll put it in a letter!!
I'll write one back, and put it in the mail
but if the postman was to fail
I'd bang my head against the wall
and then I'd prob'ly, most certainly fall...
but then get back up again
The Lord lift you with His strength, Amen!!
And every little thing will be just fine

What color is your favorite hue?

That's the color of my pool

Driving down the road I'd swerve,

Dorothy and Toto made it back home
But their hair's all tangled without a comb.
Can somebody take them to the beauty supply shop?
And clean them up, in all their slop!
A bow for the lion, and one for Toto too,
And they all said a grateful, "Thank you."
So let's throw a shindig for them all.
Singing and dancing and saying y'all,
is that a shindig or a hootn-nanny?
"Ain't no diff'rence," sez Uncle Lanny.
A party's a party whatever ya call it!
Even if you want to call it a mosh pit,
It is all just a case of semantics.
That's what you'll hear from those into pedantics.
But they seem to prefer the narrowest meanings.
They don't like those liberal leanings.
They'll trap you into a corner.
Where you will become a mourner,
But it won't last for long,
Until you break out song!!
Because the world is such a songful place!!
It goes at such a beautiful pace!
We'll all start to sing along,
Until one of us get the words wrong!
Then we can start a new tune,
We can sing it all afternoon!
Then we'll continue singing into the night!
cause its the song that never ends

Couldn't you have worn those?
They are your's, after all...
I found them in the dressing stall!
So I put them on, they fit so nice,
because Iv'e only worn them twice,
the colour is still really bright
But I only wear them at night,
that is when the owl's come out.
and the bats without a doubt,
bats are batty so you see,
They can't see, only sonar me,
at least I know they won't smack into my head!
That's a smack that I would dread!!
But maybe I'm just a scaredy-cat
No, bats are scary, no doubt about that!
But they keep away the pesky bugs...
even the ones snug in the rugs.
But insects aren't always bad
some of them make kids very glad!
Like glow bugs, and LADYBUGS too!
Glow bugs & lady bugs are like peas in two
Go ahead and take a chance on me.
It wouldn't be hard for me to do, no siree
'cause here at CF it keep my mind fresh and sharp
Just like playing piano, or even a harp!
Music keeps your brain working hard,
You can even play it in your front yard!
The neighbors may complain, but they may start to dance. . .
they might even jump and prance
And if they do, lets hope they don't fall.
If they start to tip over we'll catch 'em all!!
And keep on going with our fun
I like to eat and run

I like pie, I can do without the rest!
fruit filled or cream, I don't fret over that,
I keep eating and I'll get fat.
Milk or cream with your coffee my dear?
I don't drink coffee (didn't you hear?)
But maybe some cocoa, that would be fine,
I drink coffee all the time.
Cocoa for you I will bring.
I'm so happy I could sing!
Cocoa is great on a very cold day,
cocoa is great before hitting the hay.
Warm milk will help you sleep.
I'm going to collapse in a heap,
Just got home from playing soccer!!
So get out of the way of my walker,
Before I stomp on your weary feet.
You'd better take a seat.
Do you like your tea hot or iced?
Iced, as long as it is fairly priced.
Hot tea just isn't my thing,
especially as it is spring,
I went for a walk
And the happy birds did squawk,
Oh, isn't it lovely outside?
when I walk I like to talk
But sometimes get out of breath.
However, God won't let me fear death!
Creation is just too beautiful
Appreciating nature is dutiful!!
It's sinful to ignore God's work!!
It's even worse to spend time on a net and lurk
when you could be doing something worthwhile and learn.
Burn baby just burn
I have seen you at you highest of highs
I will sigh some sighs,
and cry some crocodile tears
No, no, don't give in to your fears.
Just choose the right path
And learn to do some math.
That way you won't have to worry
Or make decisions in too great a hurry.
Carefully weigh each pro and con,
You can do it while mowing the lawn!
That way you'll kill two birds with one stone. . .
But not while talking on the phone.
Machinery operation means keeping your focus.
Or else you might run over the frogs and the locusts!
Hey, are we being plagued right now?
That would create problems with some of our chow.
Well, I guess that could help us keep on a diet.
Hey, if it works, I might try it!
That with a little exercise, I could shrink after all!
Then I would feel so small.
I can dream can't I?
Yes, but perhaps you better put down that pie.
All those sweets aren't good for your health!
And will not add to your wealth.
Better to eat a crisp apple.
Followed by a drink of Snapple!
Eating good is a wise choice to make.
Though once in awhile, indulge in some cake.
Eat right, but do not punish yourself.
Leave the sugar on the shelf,
Or the children might eat it all.
Sending them hyper down the hall.
Bouncing all around and laughing loud
Each one drawing quite a crowd.
That's not so good if you're in school.
You can always make them sit on a stool
and then write sentences on the chalk board.
That should keep them from getting bored.
They can listen to music, as they write...
unless it gets them wound too tight.
Teachers' have to oversee their work
Often in bathrooms they will lurk.
Those yucky things called germs.
Are found on slimy little worms.
They pick them up from the school yard
Where life is really hard,
If you're a worm above ground.
You must be careful to get around.
Your presence is great for aerating garden soil
I wonder if worms toil?
Do you think they work hard?
Or hardly work? They just crawl through the yard!
But when it rains, they come up in droves,
Maybe they live in fields or groves..
what do you think a grove is, anyways?

Remember, with bureaucrats you can't fudge it.
