The person we actually need for President

A populist is great because what the public want is frequently good for us.

1. We don't want war with Russia or anyone else really. People all over the World these days with the Internet agree on a lot of things and are far more rational than the news would have us believe.

Bring the problem home and see what we would do. If Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney were big time trouble makers we wouldn't want some country coming over to help us get rid of them by bombing and taking over our whole country.

As well as a lot of destruction it will inevitably waste good soldiers and good civilians, and hand lots of money over to the weapons makers.

The President has to be a populist if this is going to be a democratic nation of any sort.

But there's another requirement:

No spouse and no relatives you care about.

There are 12,000 lobbyists in Washington, just to give an idea of the scale of the corruption going on. There's plenty of gold for those who do what the big boys want, so the public did well to veer off the pretty much predestined course of an establishment politician who will tell the truth for 225,000 dollars a time, and instead pick one with enough money but driven by his popularity, one of the few likely to be resistant to bribery, we hope, we hope...

But that isn't enough, it's the gold or lead choice. If you don't take bribery and many leaders in recent history have refused it, then ounce for ounce lead usually works very well. And if you can't threaten the politician then threaten his relatives.

In South America and other areas it is real literal lead, or a bomb on the Presidential plane.

In the US even this might arouse suspicions of something other than fair play, something other than the will of the people being done.

So the first play and usually enough is the media bombardment. Not a real bombardment, just what feels like one, coming from the mass media.

Like the big thing about the President having talked to Russia during the very strained relationship we now have, in the process of attempting to avoid war.

The really big thing is the DNC, following it's own trend of stupidity, from having rejected Bernie Sanders and the New Deal in favour of Mrs. War Making Washington Consensus, has now moved on to accusing the President of illegally trying to avoid WW3.

Gee, breaking a badly framed bit of legal stuff to save the lives of perhaps as many as 25 million Americans. Who would do such a thing?

If anyone was going to choose a worse reason for invoking the Logan Act I would like to hear it.

The Democratic Party has done the best job of alienating it's own left wing members (I was one but can't handle the repeated lies and stupidity any longer) since signing NAFTA back in the Clinton Presidency in Dec 1993.

Where are we now?

The media barrage.

The first hundred days is maybe all a President gets before being totally hemmed in by the media and media led public opinion, and legal challenges.
