Are you watching the oriuginal 1960s b+w version? 'cuz that really is some of the scariest stuff ever put on TV. I tried watching it as a kid and could never get past the first commercial break. What made it so spooky would be that they'd take a cliche sci-fi situation -- prehistoric monsters threatening construction workers in the Andes, f'r instance -- then turn it on it's ear by making the monsters the good guys and having them win!

And you ain't seen nuthin' till you see "The Zanti Misfits." My wife first saw that episode when she was in her early 20s and it spooked her so much she was literally crouching behind my chair as it watched it.

The new series (done in color for Showtime and the Sci-Fi Channel) has soe good moments, but it's nowhee near as creepy as the original b+w version. The original one gives you the feeling that the producers just weren't gonna play by the rules -- and they didn't!

The first season has the scariest stories, though the second season has some really good ones that are more philosophical than terrifying (particularly the two Harlan Ellison stories, "Soldier" and "Demon With A Glass Hand"). The only two-parter they ever did, "The Inheritors," is also quite good but again more philosophical than terrifying.

I like THE OUTER LIMITS they are so cool . I remember seeing the b-w versions when they first came out and they were awesome. We didn't think they were scary they were just fun. Of course , back in the 1960s we haf other things to be scare of for instance THE CUBAN MISSLILE CRISIS.

I agree, but it has always been my opinion that the new series is not as scary because I am an adult now and much harder to scare. :D
