What's this?
Genesis 42:1 Now when Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, Jacob said unto his sons, Why do ye look one upon another?
Egypt wasn't a part of "the entire known world"?
That's because you have a bad translation.
NIV
42 When Jacob learned that there was
grain in Egypt, he said to his sons, “Why do you just keep looking at each other?” 2 He continued, “I have heard that there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and buy some for us, so that we may live and not die.”
Where does the grain come from? The silo's.
Now you're trying to undo the whole point of Joseph's prophecy and famine! The famine is in Egypt as well. The previous few verses said so!
41:59: "
When the famine had spread over the whole country, Joseph opened all the storehouses and sold
grain to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe throughout Egypt. 57 And all the world came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph,
because the famine was severe everywhere."
Famine across whole country. Not corn.
Grain coming from storehouses. Not fields.
A complete cessation of crops EVERYWHERE FOR 7 YEARS - not 'seedtime and harvest'.
Is the bible contradicting itself?
Or have you not understood God's promise to Noah?
