  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not part of Scripture. Some human trying to put the words into some story narrative. Noah could have been preaching for 400 years. This narrative does not line up with verses that are Scripture. Find a verse in the accepted Canon. Noah was 500 years old when he had Shem. Then God told him to build the ark. The Flood was when Shem turned 98. So Noah was building the ark less than 98 years. Why would God wait 22 years before he even told Noah about it, and to start building the ark?

That has nothing to with Genesis 6:3. If it did, it would say mans days are at 120 years because God's Spirit was still striving with man and because he was flesh.
That is what it does say:

And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years."

God created humans in God's image: soul, body, spirit. The sons of God had their spirit, but they were also flesh, they had a physical body. God was pointing out the spirit could last forever, but since they had flesh, it would only last 120 years, ie life expectancy.

Yes some lived after the Flood: 500 years, 400 years, etc, but they were exceptions to the rule. Moses lived 120 years and his body was in perfect condition. God took him off the earth because Moses disobeyed God. Enoch left earth after 365 years. That is how many times the sun passes overhead in a year. Yet far short of 800 or 900 years.

Adam's flesh is only a dead physical body and soul. Yet God allowed even those in death to live 120 years as sinners. But later in Psalms it was said to only be 70 or 80 years.

There is no verse that states: "I will send a flood in 120 years", as a prophetic statement.
