Hello,

My name is nick and I'm from the UK and I want to talk to you about a very serious threat to your well-being. In the UK and I'm sure in the US meth-amphetamine has become more and more available and easy for young people to get hold of. Now I know in this post I'm going to break a few forum rules because I'm going to be completely honest with you about this subject, I'm not going to lie to you guys at all because I know your not stupid and you deserve to hear the truth about this subject.

I am an addict and have been for two years, you may think of a drug addict as some kind of looser, on welfare ect, but this is not the case. I work as a software developer and have progressed up my career path and achieved a lot, being addicted to this type of drug does not render you unsociable or incapable of living what appears to be a normal life. I have a wide circle of friends of which some know about my situation but most do not. The drug does make me feel good a lot of the time and to an outsider I would seem to be a successful and outgoing person.

This is the big problem with this drug which is making its way into our cities, clubs and schools. You only realise what is happening when you are dependant. Dependency on this drug is instant, not because you need it like some other hard drugs it is a lot worst than that by a long way. It is because you want it, it effects your mind and soul in such a way you believe that the feeling you get is the best life has to offer when there is so much more to look forward to. You think that this substance bring happiness and a sense of control over your life but in my experience it makes you into an empty shell all about fun and excitement but with no soul. I can honestly say guys that as a non-Christian and who is currently living through this world that it is not worth it, please do not give up your soul to this evil.

The reason why I have posted this is because I know it is too late to turn my life around, this stuff will not let you do that, but if I can stop even one person making the same mistake I have done some good. I wish you all the best of luck in finding what you want out of life and I hope you will take real life with real ups and downs and not choose to live a life without feelings and emotions.

Thanks for reading.

Hi Nick! Welcome to CF!

I'll tell you one thing...well, maybe two...but I'll start with confirming that am a firm believer in Christ, and I'm a sinner and a horrible person, but I have read the Bible enough to know that God created everything, and since through Him all things were made, and every single plant that has been make destructive to oneself because of sin, God still made, and He has power over all things.

So I'll tell you, that although it's hard, it would take a miracle, pain, agony, IT. IS. NEVER. TOO. LATE!!! God can make all things new, and preform that miracle that can free your life, and make it so much better if you just have the willpower to have a better life, and allow Him to help you! And that's all I'm going to say.

Dear friend, I know your suffering. it is never too late! Jesus will always accept you and so will good sober friends. to quote my favorite led zeppelin song "its not to late to change the road you're on". I tell you there is a feeling better than what meth can give you! its better than any drug its the holy spirit. I will pray for you because the path you walk is a dangerous one, one i used to tread on. Please believe me there is more to live for than just a high that lasts for a few hours. "Seek and you will find". Seek the lord my friend, and you will find peace and hapiness more substaining than meth. My only advice to you friend is observe your life and if you are not happy find out why.

There is a book by a fellow "Brit" you might like called "Life" by Keith Richards-
Richards once known as the most elegantly wasted man on the planet. He was a
heroin addict for years-He beat the addiction (been heroin free for over 20 years) and is an inspiration to any who seek to change their lives for the better.

I know others have said it but it really is not too late!
I know people who have been addicts but found their way into church and they honestly say (I quote) "Jesus is better than any high I ever had"
It doesn't ever wear off, it doesn't cost anything, it has no side effects.

Honestly I would probably have committed suicide if it werent for my faith. Pick up a bible, or better yet go to church. People will welcome you and support you.

Just give it a go :)

You are in my prayers
