  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The new Left Behind movie?

I'll probably see it with friends when it comes out on DVD and we can make a drinking game out of it or something. The only reason to see it is for the lolz factor. Maybe one day theaters will play it like they do "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and make the audience interaction part of it what's entertaining.

I would like to see it, but it isn't playing (for some odd reason) in the town in which I live. Also, I was thinking of ordering the DVD of the 1970s end times movie Thief in the Night. I remember the Larry Norman song I Wish We'd All Been Ready, which was used in the movie.

That would be cool.

Especially if someone then got the bright idea to start a Left Behind movie at a midnight screening of a previous Left Behind movie.

It's terrible from everything I've heard, even for those that read the book or liked the
first.

The ENTIRE movie involves the plane...thats it. It's steele trying to land the plane while people have vanished, and his daughter is attacked by apparently now demon possed cars and bikes...as a HOUR after the event they are still crashing next to her, planes falling out of the sky ontop of her...

I've read a couple of Christian reviews. They describe it as the worst end times movie ever made. I'll pass. Plus.....Nicolas Cage. Ugh.

It doesn't even sound like a good left behind movie, they took the first 20-30 mins of the original movie and stretched it out to full length, the movie ENDS with the plane landing. I wasn't nescarily expecting a good movie considering the track record of these movies, but I was at least expecting a good left behind, to be comparible to the original.

Cage nailed the role.

Buck was a bit young, I think, but I think they did that to avoid the older man/younger woman thing in possible future films.

Hattie was right on.

Lady Gaga even had a minor role on the plane with a midget.

Keep in mind the book was known to be part of a series. I think this film was made with the idea the whole series probably wouldn't be done so they nerfed the whole story ie Carpathia which wasn't necessary. They added a few scenes of irrational idiotic suspense that weren't necessary.

It was a good Christian movie and they should do the whole series. It was just dumbed down with meaningless action. If they had stuck to the story it would have been better.

In the book I think landing the plane was... landing the plane. The story was the rapture followed by the antichrist and the opening of the seals. Though those topics are a bit complicated for many directors to have to deal with.

I just saw the movie last night. I think this movie got it's message across successfully. The title is perfect too.

The movie is exactly about being left behind and the story focused solely on the day of the rapture and not the entire 7 year tribulation period as the first Left Behind movie did with Kirk Cameron. That one would of been more accurately called "The Tribulation."

The movie is not meant to be a Hollywood flick, it's more of a Christian movie with a message (Be Ready, Be Prepare). It also warns viewers (Christians and non-Christians) to know that someday, people will instantly vanished off the face of the earth. When it happens, people will look for all kinds of answers wondering where they disappeared. Some conspiracy theories as well.

Some of the other messages it got across accurately.

~Babies and Children will also be taken.
~Not all Christians will be caught up. (The pastor in the movie didn't make it).
~Your faith is also a requirement for deliverance. Note the pastor didn't believe what he was preaching.
~Some unbelievers will slowly come to realize what had happen and turn to God.
~Families with believers (like me) arguing with other family members trying to get them ready and prepare.
~Those who call on the name of the Lord will be save.
~Many people will escape death during the first half of the tribulation, (the case with Chloe) allowing them time to come to repentance.
~Many cops will still be here. (Okay, this was a joke, but I did noticed that in the movie). LOL

If one is expecting a action packed Hollywood flick, this is not it, the film is much more bible-based. But if you're wondering how things will be like in just the first day of the rapture, and a few things to help you be prepare for that day, this is pretty much dead on.

Not the most entertaining rapture movie ever made but certainly the most accurate by far.
