  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Watching "Wolf Hall" I was surprised how nice Thomas Cromwell. Being a Cromwell I expected him to be nasty and a bully. henry of course was rightly portrayed as a nasty bully. it made me do some research and found out how nasty Henry was. He is reported by some historian's to have be-headed over 70,000 people, how disgusting can you get? As he got older illness took over and it was at this time he appears to have sentenced more people to death than usual. He began as head of the Catholic Church and then became head of the Protestant Church. Why did a king and prominent Churchman kill so many people. It makes me also think of Oliver Cromwell who was supposed to be a Puritan, a Christian. Christians are not supposed to kill. I know King's were that time an exception to the rule as the run the country completely. The had the right to sentence to death extreme criminals as we know but I am sure most people will ask why did he sentence to death so many?
