The name John Locke

I'm thinking they chose the name John Locke for a reason.

I haven't really considered it much, but are there any other names with historical significance on Lost? With all the twists and double-meanings, etc. it really wouldn't surprise me...

There are a lot of literary names I've seen mentioned. I'm trying to find something about it on Lostpedia because it's too early for me to think for myself just yet
