Yes. I am familiar with the NEOM program. The problems the Saudis face is water - or rather lack of it. Desalination is energy intensive and is a significant contributor to global warming (a reality regardless of the geometry of the planet).

And the Twin Towers in KL are not parallel to each other since this would make one or both of them non-vertical and create unwelcome stresses. That is because the Earth does curve. Deal with it.

Ummm 8" per mile would just be a linear slope, not a curve.

It does matter how big the earth is.
If it were only a few hundred feet wide - like a giant football, you wouldn't be able to stand on it. If it were a few miles wide/long, you'd be able to see, every time you travelled, how it curved. And it might make sense to talk in terms of things "falling off" or "going over the curve".
But it is SO big that people can walk, travel for thousands of miles and still be walking on a flat surface. The earth is not like those pictures of small, spinning tennis balls that you keep showing with water flying off them.
