I doubt very much if there was any "collusion" in the sense that Trump and Putin got together and planned it. But I think that at some point Trump found out that Russian meddling was going on and that some members of his gang might be in on it and he couldn't do anything about it because Putin has some kind of hold over him. Most likely that hold involves Trump's finances and his relationships with Russian banks and the Putin cronies who run them.

And Roger Stone seems to have coordinated some of the timing of the release of the Wikileaks DNC emails. But this is just a bit that's appeared in the memos. It will be interesting to see what was and was not actually uncovered.

And I didn't realize until lately that Manafort was one of the people at the Trump Tower meeting with Donald Jr.

I'm inclined to side with Chris Christie's take that the campaign wasn't organized enough to deliberately collude on any kind of scale. I suspect that some (maybe several) individuals were working their own angles - perhaps in the interest of winning, perhaps just to make money - that may have crossed the line into what qualifies as collusion.

I don't think the Mueller report is going to be anything groundbreaking, earth-shattering or a real game changer in any possible way. I really don't.

I've long since lowered my expectations of everything and so far it's worked out pretty good for me. Everything sucks and will only get worse. That's my philosophy for now.

The worst part is that I feel that even if it were a truly groundbreaking revelation, smoking gun evidence that he planned all along with the Russians to take over our government to their political benefit... I don't expect any action from Republican leaders, nor voters. I've long lost hope for them. I honestly can't think of anything that could ever put Trump in such a bad light that he loses his base. They will find a way to rationalise his behavior before ever agreeing with the other side that something is amiss.

It's going to contain a re-hashing of everything we already know. It will contain no evidence of collusion but will contain enough of the facts we already know for the political spin machine to go into overdrive.
