  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The movie "Courageous"

I saw the movie "Courageous" tonight at church. I really thought it was a heart and thought provoking movie. The title is so appropriate. It was about Godly courage, integrity, responsibility, honesty, and taking charge. The movie itself centered around men taking these attributes seriously with God, their spouses and kids, and people around them.

I put this post in the non-denominational area because it's not so much about what happened in the movie so much, more its values taught in a person's life. It demonstrated the power of having a Godly father in the household. It also mentioned those who do not have a father figure, how to find your heavenly Father, a committment to Jesus Christ, and full of other really important values.

In the Gospels, Jesus taught so much on values, integrity, honesty, taking charge, and this all takes courage.

Did this movie strike home with any others?
