The most rejected Lover...


He could use a little love.


For the past thirty years or so of my Christian life I have thought of Jesus on Valentines day and did special things to honor Him. I even sent cards and roses to others and as a single person I plan a special evening just for He and I. I absolutely love Valentines day! It's one of my favorite holidays.Why not ask the Lord to inspire you this year? It may just become a very special day for you. ​

Wow. That's wonderful! I never would have thought of that. I've always thought Valentine as a secular holiday. So I never thought dedicating a special time for Him on Valentine's day. (added to that, was the fact that I'm single and unattached. So, Valentine's day is just another ordinary day for me, unless the church holds a Valentine's party that evening.)

If you don't mind me asking, what do you do when during that special evening with Him? Is it like a normal devotional time where you sing/pray/read the Bible, etc.?

Dear Father, i thank you for this lovely conversation starting. Father i lift up the children who come here to discuss this. I would be happy to answer your question. The most important thing to do is ask the Lord Jesus to inspire you. Oh my gosh! What a fuss we make over people of this world or we certainly hope that someone will remember us with a special card, chocolates, roses, anything...and when it doesn;t happen, well...that can be kind of sad.

Who is more deserving than Jesus? Who has shown us greater love than anyone on the planet? JESUS!!! Jesus is a real Person, is He not? So why not do all those special things for Jesus? Decorate your house. Put up a garland of hearts. Light a million candles! Set your table with your best crystal. Play your favorite worship music. Just create some atmosphere. Write a love letter to Jesus or start a journal to Him. Celebrate Jesus! Why should these things seem strange when he Himself said in Revelations 3:20 "Behold I stand at the door and knock. If any man (or woman) hears my voice and opens the door I will come in and sup with him." Just BELIEVE that Jesus has REALLY come.

You are right. It is like a special devotional time for Him.

You can also get a bunch of single girls together and all go out to dinner with Jesus as your honored guest. After all you are celebrating the greatest Lover Who ever lived.

Begin to pray now and ask the Lord what He would have you do on Valentines Day and expect Him to answer you.
