NIV Daniel 6:

24 At the king’s command, the men who had falsely [H399] accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lions’ den, along with their wives and children. And before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.

H399 literally means to eat or devour. It appears only 7 times.

Technically, Daniel did violate the King's command. A better translation is the English Standard Version:

And the king commanded, and those men who had maliciously accused Daniel were brought and cast into the den of lions—they, their children, and their wives. And before they reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and broke all their bones in pieces.
