The Syriac word translated (qeryana) has the following definition: a church book with readings from the Christian Scriptures. A "collection" of these readings... a "lectionary."

Syriac is a branch language deriving from Aramaic. These languages (syro-aramaic) was the "lingua franca" of the middle east including Persia and Northern Arabia extending to Ethiopia during the 400 to 700 AD period before Mohammad. Arabic was not a written language as of yet and the christians relied on Syro-Aramaic to christianize the middle east.

Using Syro-Aramaic as the base language, Sura 41.3 reads as follows:
"A scripture that we have translated as an Arabic lectionary..."

فمرل comes from the Syro-Aramaic (parres) meaning "to translate."

Ah, translating a text by using a closely related language as a reference point is bound to produce dubious results at best.
The English term "brave", for example, stems from the same word as the German "brav" - except that the latter term means "well-behaved", nowadays, not "courageous".

Quraan قرآن comes from the word Qiraah (to recite), and it means "Recitation". A Qari means a reciter. Its similar to the Hebrew word קרא (Qara) which means to recite.

That is because the Quraan is a book which is suppose to be recited in a beautiful way. We Muslims believe the Holy Quraan is the real Words and Speech of Allaah.

Certainly, Syriac Thesaurus by Smith, 1879 and Lexicon by Brockelmann, 1928 are references on the word "qerya-ana".

"qerya-ana" in Arabic is the addition of one letter which most likely was dropped by copyists.

قرن defective spelling, pronounced "quran"
قران the alif was added and secondary, still pronounced the same, "quran"

The acceptance of the syriac "qerya-ana" as the origin of the word quran is in light of a large volume of evidence demonstrating the arabic language borrowed from Syro-Aramaic in the formation of its written form. Reference, A Syro-Aramaic reading of the Koran by C. Luxenber, 2007, Pg 72

What Luxemberg has found is astounding. His finding is that the Koran is a Christian liturgical work originally in Syriac. Knowledge of both the Arabic and Syro-Aramaic languages is necessary to see the synonymous and onomatopoeic nature of the wording. Mr Luxemberg is skilled in both and makes a convincing argument.

Here is Sura 41.3 using a Syro-Aramaic rendering...
"A Scripture that we have translated as an Arabic lectionary..."
The Koran gives the source of its translation... the christian scriptures.

فمرل is the arabic equivalent of "parres", a syro-aramaic word which means "to translate".

As a student I would say the meaning of the Quran leads to Monotheism and belief in the Creator.
