In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

One of the most popular trilogies that could've been and should've been, but then kind of flopped on the 3rd installment. I personally had high hopes for this series and would like to know what people on this board thought of it.

Which of the 3 was your favorite and why?
If you were able to have some input in the movie/s, would you have done things differently?
Would you continue the series?

Be blessed!

I absolutely loved the first one; but the second one really let me down~I ended up falling asleep before Jada's big "kick butt" scene!!! I was bored with it. I loved the initial concept, taking it from the philosophical perspective: which would you choose; to live in reality (which is to say, not as glamorous or hopeful as your current pseudo- existence) or the doctored-up pseudo existence created by machines, cushy to a certain extent but by far, NOT reality... ~really led to some fascinating conversations over the years~ but, matrix 2 dropped the ball, which ultimately led me to miss entirely matrix 3, so I guess...who am I to judge, eh? To me, #2 (the movie, folks..the movie) didn't really pick up where it left off~going further; it was (from what I saw) just the same as the first; only different characters this time~nothing really new

The best Matrix movies was the original. It had great action sequences, a little language, and some chemistry, but no sex! It is always a fun movie to watch.

Reloaded was a total flop. After seeing the first one, the writers had a lot to live up to. Other than a couple of the fight scenes, the Agent Smith, and Smiths one in particular, there was not much to recommend it.

Revolutions was just a plain bomb. That movie was just bad. I will not even try to get into specific detail, but it was just bad. :|

If I had some input into the making of the Matrix movies I would have......

.....told the Wachowskis to not even bother making the next two movies if they are going to completely detroy every shred of potential this series had. Unfortunately, they didn't come to me for advice, and the power-bombed the movies right into the ground.

2 and 3 were SO BAD. I really can't even come up with any colorful phrases to describe them. They are just BAD. Bad pacing, bad dialogue, bad everything except for effects and fights.

I thought the third one was the best, the cave scene in zion was amazing and the ending was great. But then nothing can beat the first one, the originality of it was so good. And the whole idea that the world we live in is not what it seems was so cool.

I loved every one for different reasons. Matrix for the wire-fu, black leather coolness and what it didn't explain to you, Reloaded for the intensity (highway, etc) and for the interesting characters it introduced, and Revolutions for wrapping it all up with a decision of self sacrifice.

I think I am the only person in my circle of friends who liked Revolutions, though.

Oh man... don't get me started on the Matrix. lol. I am THE BIGGEST Matrix fan... in Canada at least. :) The first one was by far the best. I didn't think the last two "fit" with the first one. They almost had a different style... didn't work well. The second one was my least favorite, mostly because they left ya hangin... it didn't seem like a complete movie. The last one... I sobbed. lol. It was alright, but nothin' will ever measure up to the first one. I really had high expectations for these movies, weather I wanted to or not... and I was somewhat let down. :sigh: oh well... there's always... Spider man or the X-men or something.... just not the same.... lol

I enjoyed Revolutions. Reloaded is the one that I didn't think to be any good and I do believe that it's the one that made Revolutions to be worse than what it could've been. Course, this is my opinion.

The only reason that I sat through revolutions was because I paid eight bucks to see it.

Reloaded was better because at least it had soem good fight scenes.

Here's how I see it...

I liked the first matrix.

"Reloaded" has some good fight scenes. It's rating went down in my book, because of the sex scene...

"Revolutions" was good, but still left many questions unanswered.

I understood everything.

I think Neo is lame since he's dead.

Seraph (the chinese guy that fought Neo in reloaded) is Very Cool!!!

While I do have to admit that the chateau fight sequence is one of the best action sequences I have ever seen, the rest of Reloaded just didn't impress me (even the other action sequences, they were far too long). So much so that I never even bothered to see Revolouitons. So I guess that leaves my only option for favorite being the first one.

i like all three movies....minus the sex scene in the second one....I think the dudes that made the story were aiming high, they had a cool story to tell but it kinda ended up strange...im not going to rip on the movies...they were fun to watch and really had some crazy CGI....but the story could have been great. oh well its there first try

Actually something that I really enjoyed about the first Matrix was that it was a non-stop collection of subtle nods to various film genres and cliches (such as when Neo and Agent Smith face off in the subway. It's undeniably a high noon standoff, complete with newspaper tumbleweed). There wasn't much of that in the second movie (and I assume not in the third, though I haven't seen it).
