Hi, How many of you know someone that has been married for over 20 years or more? I have two cousins that have been married for over 55 years and this day and age this couple is rare. What do you think about this subject?

My grandparents have been married for 62 years now. In fact out of my entire family only my mother and father got divorced. Everyone else, aunts, uncles, etc. have had only one marriage. My husband's family is the same way, virtually no divorces.
I do notice that outside of our families thought that divorce is pretty common. It's sad to me.

I know a couple who just celebrated their 27th anniversary..and tell ya the truth, that was pretty sweet...it is just so rare to find ppl (my age) who take marriage as seriously as the Lord intended us to. We can, indeed, learn alot from our elders...for it takes a whoooole lot of responsibility to maintain a wonderfully-healthy marriage. Praise God, I hope that if it be His will that I, too, get to experience a 27th yr anniversary...and a 28th and a 29th.....

;)

Cousins, 3rd or so, married 61 years this spring. Last year went to a party for their 60th, it was awesome. :o)

Today I helped surprise a friend (and her brother & sister) surprise their parents for their 40th anniversary. It was so fun and so very cool. Wow.. he planted a kiss on her... gee and after 40 years.. :D

My husband and I have been married for 22 years and to tell you the truth, it doesn't feel anything like that long. The years have gone by so fast! :)

My parents have been married for coming up 50 years soon, which is great when so many of my peers' parents' marriages fell apart long ago. Good on you both, Mum and Dad!!

My parents have been married for 28 years, they dated for about 7 years prior to marriage... so total would be 35 years. But since the poll asked for years of marriage, I chose 25-30 years.

My grandparents from mom's side also were married for at least 50 years also. I knew that their marriage was a little rough at some points (not believers) but they stick together until my grandpa passed away 11 years ago.

I am really blessed to have my parents & grandparents are/were being faithful to one another no matter what.. great role-models that I can look up to for my future marriage.
