If you want to claim this:
Then I'm going to ask you if it was done in spite of the Bible, or with respect to It.
Why is that such a hard question to answer?
Kinda like the Beatles chanting GIVE PEACE A CHANCE while funding the Irish Republican Army.
Is that your opion or theirs (or both)? They did it in respect to the bible.
That's so cute I want to hug a teddy bear.Belk said:Why do you claim the earth was created in six literal days in spite of the bible?
What an ignorant question. We're talking about interdenominational violence due to differing interpretations of the Bible and you ask if it has anything to do with the Bible? In spite of the Bible, or with respect to It?
It's probably just a lull. Christian violence against dissenters still happens. As I said, the violence now is against everyone who disagrees with the denomination, not just other Christians.A "lull", or an end? Most of the differences between Christian religions are being argued bloodlessly on forums such as this one.
If you look back at history you'll see that denomination has been the most persecuted. What's your point? That said if you examine the bloodshed within the nominal Christian church you will find one denomination at the center of nearly all of it going back to the fourth century.
I am asking you, if you think it was done with respect to the Bible, or in spite of It.What an ignorant question. We're talking about interdenominational violence due to differing interpretations of the Bible and you ask if it has anything to do with the Bible?
"Walking" by faith? "W A L K I N G" by faith? Just who calls it that (besides yourself, that is)?
Normally we say something like, "Accepted on good authority."
And I already gave you an answer. Your question was ignorant, and you don't understand the plain English answer I gave. Perhaps you should take a while longer to get to grips with that before you post again.I am asking you, if you think it was done with respect to the Bible, or in spite of It.
It makes all the difference in the world.
If you look back at history you'll see that denomination has been the most persecuted. What's your point?
You seemed to be implying that one denomination was responsible for most of the violence. While that denomination may have instigated some conflicts, it has also been the most persecuted by others so your implication is incorrect.I thought I made it.

We live by a rule that academians don't like:
Romans 3:4a God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar;
And if the dentist doesn't agree, he can take a hike, can't he?
Which Christian denominations are killing each other today?

Perhaps you should spend a little time learning about the Reformation and its consequences. Then look at how the Orthodox Church treated Catholics as it expanded. Then turn closer to home and learn about early US history (have you any idea of the beliefs of the Pilgrim fathers and the puritan colonists?). If you want something more recent bring things forward to the Ku Klux Klan from 1915 to 1940s.While the Catholic church has been persecuted by many forces outside of the Christian faith it is responsible for the most egregious persecutions within the Christian faith (and the Jewish faith as well).
Let me make things clearer for you by illustration with 2 scenarios:I am asking you, if you think it was done with respect to the Bible, or in spite of It.
It makes all the difference in the world.
Right. Can I get a one word answer from you, AV? Just a "right" or a "wrong" please?
I understand perfectly.Do you understand now?
And that just shows you have no understanding. Blowing up abortion clinics is not an act brought about by Christian interdenominational differences. It is a political and moral disagreement.I understand perfectly.
You are the one that doesn't.
Some people blow up abortion clinics, claiming they are doing it with respect to the Bible.
But anyone who asks me if I think they are doing it with respect to the Bible, or in spite of It, I'm going to answer that it was obviously done in spite of It.
