I think they are worried that people were posting to Bump there post count.

If that's the case, modify the Recreation area to be like the testing forums, where post in the area dont count towards your post count.

True, but theres no reason not to convert the whole mess of threads in the rec room to "Non post count" threads, or create a sub room in the rec room for threads like this one, or "last post" or "first thought" or ... or ... there are a lot of threads that could be counted as about 99.9% spam, and they could all be moved to a "sub forum"
