Acts 1:1-3 The former logos I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

In the introduction to his second account, the author Luke references his previous book;
The Gospel of Luke, as his logos, which he describes his intent concisely.
His Gospel is an account set in order from the beginning based on a perfect understanding
of eye witness accounts.

Luke 1:1-4 Inasmuch as many have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of those things which have been fulfilled among us. Just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the logos delivered them to us, It seemed good to me
also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to
you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus That you may know the certainty of
those things in which you were instructed.

In the opening to the Gospel of John, the Son of God, Christ Jesus, is identified as the
logos theos, or the word of God. Based on a more perfect understanding derived from
the accounts of the Greek scholar Luke, it becomes clear why the Lord, as the logos theos
would say of Himself:

Revelation 1:8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, Beginning and End,
says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, Beginning and End,
the First and the Last.

Even as He identified Himself to Israel:
Isaiah 41:4 Who has performed and done, calling the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord, am the first; and with the last I Am He.

Isaiah 44:6-8 Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God. And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient people.
And the things that are coming and shall come, let them show these to them. Do not fear,
nor be afraid; have I not told you from that time, and declared? You are My witnesses.
Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one.

Isaiah 48:12 & 13 Listen to Me, O Jacob, and Israel, My called:
I am He, I am the First, I am also the Last.
Indeed My hand has laid the foundation of the earth,
And My right hand has stretched out the heavens;
When I call them, they stand up together.

Actually, the text does not state "the word of God" in John 1:1-2.
It states "the Word was God."

Logos in Greek philosophy was the First Cause, the great Intelligence and Reason behind the Universe.
John opens his gospel with the astounding claim that the despised and crucified man, Jesus of Nazareth,
is the eternal Logos, source of all wisdom and power, who became flesh to reveal God to us.
Based on a more perfect understanding derived from
the accounts of the Greek scholar Luke, it becomes clear why the Lord, as the logos theos

I only mentioned the Gospel of John account to build a bridge to the scriptures quoted
from Revelation and Isaiah.

For further clarification, I did not quote or misquote John 1:1-2.
I stated that the opening to the Gospel of John (John 1:1-15)
identifies Christ Jesus as the Word of God.
I would think that you know that, but Revelation 19:13 should leave no doubt
as to the truth of the statement.

different context. However, if you confess The Word is God, we're good.

Not at all interested in Greek philosophy or trivial pursuit

Details matter, right?

I would not misapply it to John 1:1-2.
To summarize the actual topic of the thread:
Luke uses the word logos in his opening to Acts to describe his first book, or Gospel of Luke.
If you can use Greek philosophy to explain his words, please do so, since you introduced
that into the thread. I am not interested, but apparently you think someone out there might.
So, why does Luke, an educated Greek doctor, use the word logos in this context?
Since you missed it in your zeal to find fault and derail the thread, as usual, the OP
is making a connection between Luke's discourse, and the fact the Yeshua claims
to be the alpha and omega, first and last, the beginning and the end.
If you do not think there is a relationship between logos, and those statements
quoted in Revelation and Isaiah, it is probably because your mind is cluttered with Greek
philosophy. Just say so, and move on.
As it is, your response merely shows your lack of comprehension of what was presented,
to pursue your own agenda.

To summarize the actual topic of the thread:
Luke uses the word logos in his opening to Acts to describe his first book, or Gospel of Luke.
Logos has several meanings.
In Acts 1:1, logos means "writing, account, book."
If you can use Greek philosophy to explain his words, please do so, since you introduced
that into the thread.
The logos of Acts 1:1 does not have the same meaning as the logos of John 1:1-2.
I am not interested, but apparently you think someone out there might.
So, why does Luke, an educated Greek doctor, use the word logos in this context?
Explained in post #2.
Since you missed it in your zeal to find fault and derail the thread, as usual, the OP
is making a connection between Luke's discourse, and the fact the Yeshua claims
to be the alpha and omega, first and last, the beginning and the end.

If you do not think there is a relationship between logos, and those statements
quoted in Revelation and Isaiah,
That is correct.

The logos of Acts 1:1 means "writing, account, book," while
the use of logos in John 1:1-2 means the First Cause, the great Intelligence and Reason behind the Universe; i.e., God.

Two very different meanings.
it is probably because your mind is cluttered with Greek
philosophy. Just say so, and move on.
As it is, your response merely shows your lack of comprehension of what was presented,
to pursue your own agenda.
Thanks for the prayers!
