I HAVE to share this with you all.
I am so excited I cannot even SEE straight!
I have been reading the Old Testement KJV in Chronicalogical order. It was very hard to read, but I got through it. I am now reading the New Testement in Chronicalogical order and let me tell you........................JESUS IS THE LIGHT!!!
I have fallen in LOVE with CHRIST all OVER again! He is just so..........I have no words, nothing can express the awesomeness of Christ.
Its like I was in the dark with Israel in the Old Testement and then the LIGHT of the World CAME! Its such an amazing thing. I understand the Father so much more now that I read the OT and then here comes Christ, GOD manifested in the flesh. Oh how perfect He is, the unspotted Lamb!
Praise the Lord
GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is something so special about this. It's humbling to think of the great gift that He gave us.... "here comes Christ" is the prayer of our day (just as it was the prayer in the OT). I can't wait for the day when I hear that trumpet sound! And I won't have time to shout "Here comes Christ! It was all worth it!"

I love every word of the Bible... but to me there is something very special about those words in red. They seem to "get" me everytime.

Thanks for the post Sis!

What an awesome testimony GreenEyedLady! Thank you so much for sharing that! I have tried to read the entire Bible chronologically but I always get bogged down in the geneaologies (sp?). :( Hopefully I'll eventually get it done!

I have this neat thing at home that shows how Jesus appears in every book of the Bible, even the OT. When I get home I'll find it and post it here.
Wow! That would be so nice of you lambslove! I look forward to your posting!

Amen brother!

I love those words in red so much, because the King of Kings wants to speak to me, nothing but a filthy sinner who deserved hell. I get especially blessed for some reason when Jesus says "Do not cry" or "Let not your heart be troubled". Seems like when I read Him saying that I cry more.:)

You can read through the entire Bible in just under a year by simply reading 4 pages a day (not 4 chapters...just 4 pages). This takes the average reader about 20 minutes a day.

I have found that for most people this is an amount of daily reading that they are able to handle (even in those geneological portions) without getting overwhelmed or bogged down.

My father used this simple method to read through the Bible every year for more than 50 years! He is now with His Lord and I'm sure is having a great time discussing the Book that was his very life and breath while he walked this earth.

No its not hard to read and I am not that smart either. When I pick it up I ask the Lord to help me understand it and He does!
I wish I could download the feeling and emotion and spirtual filling I feel at this point in my reading. Christ is so awesome I just cannot put HIM into words.

What I am most amazed by is how the Bible always has fresh insights and wisdom! I am going through it for the fifth time and and there are just so many things that are totally new!!! I expect that there will be just as many new insights when I have read it fifty times, if I end up being able to! God's Word is awesome

That's awesome that you find it easy to read GreenEyedLady! Unfortunately, it's not that way for everyone, including me. That's why I prefer the NKJV and other more modern versions. :)

:amen: Thank you GEL for your awesome post! I am starting to read the New Testament in chron order and you are so right, it really does open up the scriptures in a new way I didn't see before! I myself have been struggling with doubts about my church and my faith and all that was needed was going straight to the Word of God and getting into some serious prayer and quiet time to hear from the Lord; thank you for suggesting this type of Bible Reading!

Glory!

God bless!
