  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I got a fifth grade reader when I home schooled my son in fifth grade. There were some really good excerpts from books, and for at least one of those I had to hunt down the complete novel it came from. There was one story I found disturbing, though. It was about an Asian-American family who.adopted a child from Vietnam. Now I would have adopted a child from Vietnam if I could have and two Vietnamese American boys practically grew up in my house. But after reading about the school it seemed like there was some kind of ethnic purity stuff going on - - they adopted an Asian child because they were Asian, like they were a matched set.

Anyway they planned to adopt a baby girl, but instead they brought home a boy who was definitely not a baby and I think he may have had a bad leg or some other disability. The girl was upset but her parents never talked to her about it or anything. She was supposed to just adapt. It made me really sad.
