I am a big and huge fan of the Learning Channel with their shows from 9-4 pm eastern time. With "A Baby Story, A Dating Story, and A Wedding Story" and it is also have that "While You Were Out and Trading Spaces". Good network for the women.

I was a fan of the Learning Channel way back when it was a treasure trove of various interesting trivia instead of a de facto Home and Garden 2. There's still a good program on now and then, but they've gotten to be so few and far between...

I hardly watch the learning channel anymore. Nowadays, I prefer the Discovery Channel.

BTW, Discovery and TLC are owned by the same network corporation.

Totally... I love A makeover story and a dating story...
Im also a big fan of trading spaces, clean sweep, while you were out.
Oh and I cant think of the names but the one where they teach you how to shop.. then they give you liek a set ammount of money and you have to go out and shop for yourself giving the instructions they gave you.

Or the one where teh family planns the wedding :D those are always a hoot :p

I used to love trading spaces, but I got so bored with it. It seems to be the same thing, show in and show out- slap some paint on the walls (or if you're Hildy glue something hideous to the walls) take down the ceiling fan, throw on a few slip covers, rearrange the furniture, bring in another cheap MDF build in, and tone down the lights for the "Reveal". There's not a lot of imagination left in the show.

But I LOVE clean sweep. Call me cruel, but I am totally anal retentive and I love watching people as they get broken hearted over having to get rid of things they haven't seen in 6 years, forgotten existed and are now having to part with. I steal some great organizational ideas from that show for the office. I wish they didn't always use the same headache inducing paint colors though.

What not to wear is pretty good. I wish someone would recommend me for that show. I dress very professionally, but I need someone to show me how to spice it up. Plus, $5,000 for clothing and accessories, a makeup lesson, and a haircut in New York City sound like a GREAT time! Throw in a swedish massage by a muscular Swede named Sven and I'm all over that!

I am a big TLC fan. I am not a huge tv watcher, but 80% of what i watch is on TLC. I love Trading Spaces, What not to wear, While you were out, Clean Sweep, Baby Story. And the new show Faking it seems really good so far ( i have seen 2 of them)!! Glad to see other TLC fans here! Anyone been watching Trading Spaces:HOME FREE?? I am 6 for 6 on the voting. Everyone i have voted for has won! This week i voted light blue (jon and stacy) for the Finals!! Cant wait to see the winners next week. Is there a separate thread here for this show by any chance?

I didn't personally vote at all, but all who I've guessed to win have indeed won. I personally believe the yellow team did the better job and will win the finals, but we'll know for sure on Sunday.

As for an actual Trading Spaces thread, I don't think there is one; perhaps you should start one.

Ty I think is the best (and funniest) carpender; he's a total dorker! :p Amy-Win Pastor is equally as good, but just not as funny as Ty. Andrew Dan Jumbo I have some problems with; I just can't put my finger on it. Carter Oosterhouse's works aren't always the best plus I don't find him very funny.

Well i ended up 7 for 7 with the voting on Trading Spaces:Home Free !! I can't believe i voted for the winner EVERY time!! Did anyone see the grand finale?? Paige threw in a twist that would give the loser the opportunity to get half their mortgage paid. She told both teams to write ALL or HALF on a card. If they wrote ALL and won they get their mortgage Paid, If they wrote ALL and lost they get nothing. BUT..if they wrote HALF they are guaranteed half their mortgage paid regardless of if they won or lost. Both Teams wrote ALL...so the losers (yellow team) unfortunately went home with nothing!!! I felt bad for Angel and Vilma!! Oh well!! I am glad for Jon and Stacy for winning!! They did a great job!!

Big Trading Spaces fan here! I would never personally want them in my house, but it's fun to watch them in other's houses:) What not to Wear is a good one too.

My new favorite channel though is Discovery Health (OK, I don't like all the baby birthing shows, or Berman & Berman, or the shallow plastic surgery). they have a lot of interesting special programs.
