CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My adult son is in a school for his work and they are continually doing presentations. My son's friend did one on "Halitosis". Part of what he wrote was "No one will love you. Everyone will hate you. You will be lonely." However, the guy is an ex-Marine drill sergeant, so he said it in that drill sergeant manner: "NO one will love you! EVERYONE will hate you! You WILL be lonely!"

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past
My new puppy is very alpha. Unfortunately for us all, so is our German Shepherd and our Chow/Akita mix. Typically George entertains himself by bugging Dakota and Mickey, and I get frustrated. (I mean, give me a break: I did this decades ago with three children.)
Tonight, the puppy entertained himself for about two minutes: He picked up Dakota's empty metal food dish and carried it around with great determination and a look of purpose. He stopped in his tracks, however, between a lamp and a wall, then stepped forward, backward, forward, backward . . . as I watched, it dawned on me: he was teasing his shadow!

My sweet grand-daughter is three and talks a bucket-full. Her parents, no doubt, went large on the Easter basket stuff. So Hannah called this morning to tell us: "I waked up dis moning and it was Twismas!"
