There are many who teach things that are... to put it gently... unorthodox.

My general experience with Jesuits (and I've had quite a few) is that they're either really, really good at spreading and teaching the faith or they're really, really bad at it.

I know most people think liberal Jesuits are a bad thing, but something it can be good. My husband, baptized Episcopalian but unchurched, went to a liberal Jesuit high school. he got a great education and loved his teachers, even attended religion classes taught by a Jesuit. As a result, while he thinks conservative Evangelicals are nuts, he tends to think all Catholics are tolerant, compassionate and not so wacky. In fact, while he was uncomfortable when I started going to the non-denom church, he was relieved when I decided to go back to the Catholic Church.

My boyfriend goes to a Jesuit University... University of Scranton. And he's also a very conservative and devout Catholic, yet he's never had anything bad to say about a Jesuit. I guess it depends on the priest and what the priest teaches. ^_^

Everything I hear about the Society nowadays seems to suggest that many have fallen into heresy. Is this correct?
