What do you do for a living?

I'm a student, I'm going to be working in the summer though helping promote mathemagic computer tutor :o

I study accounting and chinese but I know I'm called to ministry and I've taking the first step - becoming a senior soldier of the salvation army. My plan is to work a few years and then go to bible college and become a full-time officer and hopefully that isn't too much different from God's plans - but who knows?

◘ Do you feel that if a teacher is trained to carry a firearm he or she should be allowed to carry it at school?
○ Do you feel that parents should be held responsible for the actions of their children who are under 18 years of age? Is your answer also the same if this child has shot and killed someone?

◘ Do you feel that if a teacher is trained to carry a firearm he or she should be allowed to carry it at school?

I live in Australia so our teachers don't carry firearms. I have to disagree with how Americans are all allowed to carry guns. But in that context it's a little bit ambiguous. I guess I would be more in support of security guards carrying firearms then teachers.

○ Do you feel that parents should be held responsible for the actions of their children who are under 18 years of age? Is your answer also the same if this child has shot and killed someone?

You can't be responsible for someone else's actions. They should be responsible for providing and educating and loving the children but never their actions. This society already has a big enough culture of blame - if parents were held responsible for their children's actions, some children just wouldn't learn what it means to be responsible.

◘ How do you feel about Russia claiming the land around the north pole as their own?

Depends - is there oil there? Shouldn't they be improving their citizens lives then trying to reinstate themselves as a "world power"

○ Do you believe that high profile princes should be permitted to actively serve in their country's military? Should they be permitted to go into war zones? Why or why not?

In the old testament all the kings led their countries to war, why shouldn't ours? I don't see why not - they know the risks, they know what they are getting into - at the end of the day, if we are talking about Prince Harry - he's just a man - he can do whatever he wants. That monarchy is dead anyway.

◘ How would you feel about your country having free health care for all of its citizens? What would the positive aspects be? The negative aspects?

It would be great - you wouldn't have a lot of people who can't afford healthcare suffer. But if would cost a lot of money and it won't happen because it won't win the government votes. Plus I don't really think it's viable - unless everyone gets taxed like 70% like in one of the Scandinavian countries, forgot which one.

◘ How young is absolutely too young to be married?
○ Will you or would you have married your spouse if your parents had a legitimate reason for not liking him/her?
◘ Would you rather have a strict way of completing a task or have that task 'open' to complete any way you so choose?
○ Who has been the most inspirational person in your life? What has he/she done that made you look up to him/her?
◘ How many hours do you sleep in a typical night? Do you fall asleep easily, or do you find it rather difficult?

I would say that anything below 18 is too young, but I wouldn't decide like that anyway. You have to know someone completely before you can marry, like after getting to know each other for 2/3 years I reckon

Depends what those legitimate reasons are. If they are reasons based on the bible then no. If they are reasons not based biblically then unfortunately I would have to go with the verse where Jesus says "who is my father, who is my mother?"

If I know that God wants me to marry someone (and not my own feelings) then I'll do it.

◘ Would you rather have a strict way of completing a task or have that task 'open' to complete any way you so choose?

Open - God isn't closed

○ Who has been the most inspirational person in your life? What has he/she done that made you look up to him/her?

Most inspirational - probably two people. My Plant Leader - such an awesome man of God. Such a Godly man and he loves his wife and son. Also a major in the army (that's the Salvation Army) that is the mother of another woman at my church - God has tested her in so many ways and she just goes "mmm what's next"

◘ How many hours do you sleep in a typical night? Do you fall asleep easily, or do you find it rather difficult?

7-9. I have a pretty full on day and I am thankful that after my quiet time I basically collapse and fall asleep.

How fluent are you in Chinese?
I am part-Vietnamese btw!

I can speak Cantonese well enough - like I can have a conversation but my vocabulary is a bit limited. My mandarin is appauling

lol, it's not that big a thing, I know it will be hard, but it seems the gifts God has given me are suited to that role and well, serving God everyday, doing what I want to do, reading his word, serving his people..I can't really imagine a better job?

Don't have a favourite flower, but I would like to give a bunch of white roses to a certain young lady...

No didn't know about that. I think it's typical of the world today that doesn't even acknowledge God anymore. We should be out there proclaiming it.

Bloodshed, death, more of God's children will be lost. Is there more to feel? When will man learn?

◘ Do people who whine about everything annoy you? How do you deal with these people?

Yes they do. I don't really know, I'm probably a pretty big whiner myself. Like I do with all things, I try to lead by example, but I'm slowly learning how to lead from behind. The world has plenty of problems, is just going past it. Motivating others is a big thing for me, so I guess I try to be patient - doesn't always happen tho!

What kind of Christian, secular groups do you like?

Depends what you mean by "groups". But I'll take it as meaning organizations.

Favourite Christian ones are my church the Salvation Army, Inner City West. The B-Team (which is our youth group), and I guess the student missionaries at the uni, called Student Life, associated with Campus Crusade.

Secular ones (they would say they are Christian but meh) is the Oaktree Foundation which I volunteer for.
